The ballroom is $400M but the taxpayer portion of $200M is for upgrading the secure bunker that was under the east wing, now ballroom, for decades, so future presidents can use it in the event of a national emergency.

He didn't turn to protect her because his detail was getting him to safety and he assumed she would follow protocol and wait. She didn't.

@bethanyshondark It looks to me like he wasn't giving much of a choice. He was surrounded by Secret Service and they were escorting him out. If his wife was left behind, that is the fault of the Secret Service, not RFK Jr.
