It is an honour to be elected as Student Officer at the RAISE Network for the next three years at September's conference. A great network for driving student engagement. I am looking forward to giving back to support the continuation of our activities. @RAISEnetwork@SEHEJ_RAISE
@NotoriousCath@OpenUniversity Same here. My @OpenUniversity friends have supported me through the frustrations and challenges of university life, and helped me to keep going through difficult times. We’ve laughed, cried, worked, campaigned and celebrated achievements together. Love my friends ❤️❤️❤️
@NotoriousCath@SeneddWales@ANLecturer@NUSWalesPres So pleased to see NUS supporting their teachers and lecturers. A decent pension on retirement shouldn’t be too much to ask. Good to see that some students recognise this.
Absolutely delighted that Labour’s Women’s Conference today voted overwhelmingly to support the @ucu strike, including 100% support from trade unions. Thank you sisters.
Looking forward to more vocal support from the front bench as we go back on strike on Monday.

@NotoriousCath Jonathan was also a member of the Advisory Group supporting Dame Shirley Pearce’s independent review of the TEF. His broad understanding of the HE sector and his willingness to talk and listen to students made him an excellent choice for the role.
And do you want staff obliged to work into their 70s because they can’t afford to retire? Seriously?
And what does it say about universities’ priorities that it’s student-facing staff who invariably have the worst conditions?

So anyone who dares say to me that I don’t care about students because I am striking – you can do one.
Anyone who thinks it’s good for students to have overworked, underpaid staff responsible for their learning – what are you on?

Most people here first knew me as a student rep. I lived and breathed looking out for students for two years as OU Students Association President – and went down to under half my normal salary to do it.

We'd like the Open University to use its voice to support achieving a resolution of the dispute.
We want it solved - please help sort it, OU!

@SkyNews That’s going to hit me hard as I have family living in Canada and the US. I don’t fly often but when I do I pay for it myself, unlike frequent fliers whose employers meet the cost.
