Thank you to every one of the 500K OSF registered users. You are demonstrating the power of open science and changing the cultural norms.

Collectively, you are providing a foundation of evidence for policymakers to enact openness with confidence.

How to MOVE your Mendeley library to Zotero:

A step-by-step guide with visuals 🧵

Why move, you ask?

Elsevier is SHUTTING DOWN Mendeley Desktop app on Sept. 1, 2022 😱

[Eiko Fried @EikoFried]

Step by step tutorial moving from mendeley to Zotero. Did this myself a few months back and worked like a charm (but ofc took a while for 10k refs)

BREAKING: White House issues new policy that will require, by 2026, all federally-funded research results to be freely available to public without delay, ending longstanding ability of journals to paywall results for up to 1 year. Coverage coming on @ScienceInsider.

[Sam Gershman @gershbrain]

I think it's great that the White House is mandating OA, but only if they're not simultaneously mandating massive infusions of research funding into the coffers of corporate publishers. We could use that money instead to support actual research.

Are there secondary benefits of preregistration?

Our respondents think that preregistering improved their workflow, analysis plan, design, but made the project longer.

For the last collaborative @Spiegeloog_UvA column of the semester, Nita wrote about the debunking of an effect that we are all familiar with.

[Nita Alpin @nita_alpin]

The Dunning-Kruger effect, once considered a fundamental part of human nature, was recently shown to not be a generalizable psychological phenomenon. 🔎 In my latest column, I discuss the process of and the irony in debunking this effect. Check it out! 🌞
