US lawmakers continue to ignore the pleas of students around the country calling for gun reform. If they refuse to do their job, we'll refuse to do ours.
I’d gladly let my students walk out if I were a teacher in the US. I’d hold the door for them, applaud them and hi-5 each of them. Then I’d walk out with them. School shootings affect faculty as well. I hope this is the last time we hear “school shooting in the US” on the news. https://t.co/7whYb8Tb6y
At a Ft. Lauderdale rally, Florida high school student Emma Gonzales just gave an eloquent, well-reasoned, impassioned speech about the causes of avoidable gun killings. If you’ll pardon the firearms metaphor, she’s a pistol.
@macrosie Let the youth of America get a chance to express themselves. Give us a chance to succeed. Give us a chance to change things. But also give us a chance to make mistakes. We are also growing and changing with you and the rest of society.
On Friday, April 20th we want students to attend school and then promptly WALK-OUT at 10:00 am. Sit outside your schools and peacefully protest. Make some noise. Voice your thoughts. "We are students, we are victims, we are change."
@Right_to_Vote16 For those of you concerned on the separate dates of our protest and @womensmarch 's. We agree that there is strength in numbers. We are working on cohesiveness this now.
