Submit Your Article to the Safeguarding Sudan’s Living Heritage Blog Museum!
A Call for Writers Interested in Heritage
The museum team is pleased to announce an open call for five writers to publish new articles on the Safeguarding Sudan’s Living Heritage blog museum. The blog currently features over 120 topics, organized into six main “rooms”:
Women – Cities – Language & Communication – Landscapes – Resilience & Coexistence
We invite interested writers to submit:
• A short proposal (150 words or less) outlining the idea of your article and specifying the most relevant room.
• A link or file with samples of your previous writing.
Participants will be selected based on the originality and relevance of their topic to the blog’s existing content (we encourage you to review previously published topics to avoid repetition).
Selected contributors will be asked to:
• Write an article between 700–1000 words, to be submitted within three weeks.
• Work with our editorial team, who will support the writing, review, and editing process, and translate the article into English.
Submission requirements:
• The article must be written in Arabic.
• Applicants must not have published with us previously.

يسرّ فريق المتحف الإعلان عن فتح باب التقديم لخمسة كُتّاب/كاتبات لنشر مقالات جديدة على مدونة متحف صون تراث السودان الحي. تضم المدونة أكثر من ١٢٠ موضوعًا موزعة على ست “غرف” رئيسية: النساء – المدن – اللغة والتواصل – المناظر الطبيعية – التعايش والصمود
ندعو المهتمين لإرسال:
• مقترح تعريفي قصير (١٥٠ كلمة أو أقل) يوضح فكرة مقالك المقترح، مع تحديد الغرفة الأنسب له.
• رابط أو ملف يحتوي على نماذج سابقة من كتاباتك.
سيتم اختيار المشاركين بناءً على جدّة وملاءمة الموضوع مع محتوى المدونة الحالي (لذا نرجو الاطلاع على المواضيع المنشورة مسبقاً لتفادي التكرار).
المختارون سيُطلب منهم:
• كتابة مقال يتراوح بين ٧٠٠-١٠٠٠ كلمة، تُسلَّم خلال ثلاثة أسابيع.
• سيعمل الفريق التحريري على دعم عملية الكتابة، والمراجعة، والتحرير، بالإضافة إلى ترجمة المقال إلى اللغة الإنجليزية.

لكل المهتمين بمجال توثيق التراث وصناعة الأفلام القصيرة، يسرنا الإعلان عن أولى ورشنا حول صناعة الأفلام الوثائقية باستخدام الهاتف المحمول، من تقديم الإعلامية وصانعة الأفلام القصيرة علا محمد محجوب.

تم تنظيم الورشة بالتعاون مع متحف البركل، وستُقام خلال الأسابيع القادمة لمدة 3 أيام، من الساعة 8 صباحًا حتى 1 ظهرًا.

نظرًا لمحدودية المقاعد، سيتم اختيار المشاركين بناءً على إجاباتهم في استمارة التسجيل.

للتسجيل، يرجى تصوير فيديو قصير (30–60 ثانية) تتحدث فيه عن موضوع تراثي ترغب في توثيقه عبر فيلم وثائقي، وإرفاقه مع استمارة التسجيل. سيتم التواصل مع المقبولين لتزويدهم بمزيد من التفاصيل.

For everyone interested in heritage documentation and short film production, we are pleased to announce our first workshop on documentary filmmaking using mobile phones, presented by media expert and short filmmaker Ola Mohamed Mahjoub.

The workshop, organized in collaboration with Al-Barkal Museum, will take place over three days in the coming weeks, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Due to limited seats, participants will be selected based on their answers in the registration form.

To apply, please record a short video (30–60 seconds) in which you talk about a heritage topic you would like to document through a documentary film, and attach it to the registration form. Selected applicants will be contacted with additional details.

🔸 The workshop is free of charge and will be delivered in Arabic.
🔸 It includes both theoretical and practical components. At the end of the workshop, all participants will be required to complete a short film.
