@BillArnoldTeach Whatever you can imagine about heaven, and how the soul becomes happy there, no one can begin to imagine.
Someone who has never seen the ocean asked what it is like. The other could only say, "Oh, the vastness! The waves! The roar!"
@LutheranAnswers "Jesus spoke in parables specifically so people wouldn't understand."
His public parables were meant to place a soft mirror in front of those who were so certain of their righteousness, which is to have the love of God and neighbor, not from following the dictates of Scripture.
@joshwhitlatch The Gospel of John, Chapter One, written in a pagan language:
"In the beginning was the Logos, (the ancient Greek pagan philosophical principle of divine rationality which permeates all of creation), and He dwelt among us."
@mattswaim Wonderful to hear! And does your Church's pastor spend zero minutes denigrating and smearing other faith traditions?! Or does he instead proclaim the Gospel message of forgiveness, mercy, grace, dignity, virtue and charity?
If all the water in the world were only in the oceans or floating as ice in the oceans then the sea level would decrease if all the ice were to melt.
But I understand there's heaps of ice upon the land as well. Grok says that 99.5 % of all frozen water is land ice, and only .5% is sea ice.
@riecker Dr. David Anders was PCUSA and a professor of Protestant history, who at one point wanted to study the ancient Church to prove the Reformer's claims of Apostolic origin, and discovered that he was in the wrong Church.
@nwammonwu1@Just_brownn@FrUgochukwu "So what happened to the rosary"
The rosary was said before their martyrdom.
St. Joan of Arc prayed for deliverance before she was martyred, and was promised to be delivered - God kept his promise as she was delivered to salvation.
@persficticio "Go out into the world and gather your experiences. Once you have gathered your experiences and have become sick of the world, come to me for the cure." -Ramakrishna to his householder devotees
@Just_brownn@nwammonwu1@FrUgochukwu More important than believing or having faith is having charity. Just as with sanctifying grace which comes from the Sacraments, belief alone is not enough for them to be efficacious.
Glad to hear, Saepe. In the Catholic tradition, the Sacrament of Baptism incorporates the soul into the mystical body of Christ, makes one a priest, prophet and king, and bestows sanctifying grace. Parents usually want what is best for their children, granting them an early start on their journey to their true home.
In the Old Covenant, infants were incorporated into the life of the faithful through circumcision, while in the New Covenant, the grace is not restricted or constricted but expanded through Baptism.
