Aung San Suu Kyi is denied access to medical treatment in Myanmar
05 September 2025
Aung San Suu Kyi, the former State Counsellor, is enduring a severe deterioration in her heart condition while confined in prison, all while the junta regime callously denies her access to essential medical care, said her son, Kim Aris.
At 80 years old, Aung San Suu Kyi has been unjustly incarcerated since the military coup on February 1, 2021, despite persistent outcry from the international community advocating for her release.
Kim Aris said to The Independent, "The treatment of my mother by the State's Administration Council is not only cruel but life-threatening.”
