Wasin is the costume designer for the *Scarlet Heart Ullvee* series.
Myanmar is the only country in the world where the *Luntaya Cheik* (traditional woven fabric) is worn; please cease the practice of repurposing this fabric for *Lanna* costumes.

Before, it was all about sharing, but now they want to claim ownership, so they're mixing everything together. They used to give credit to the original source, but now they don't even do that anymore.this is Myanmar Acheik 🇲🇲🇲🇲
Myanmar's cultural heritage deserves recognition and respect. Our traditions, clothing, and performing arts reflect our history and identity. Cultural exchange should always respect historical origins. 🇲🇲

Myanmar Acheik (Luntaya Acheik / Kyo-gyi-cheik) is not just a decorative pattern or a fictional costume. It is a distinctive part of Myanmar’s historical and cultural heritage, deeply connected to our royal history, especially the Konbaung Dynasty. Its intricate wave patterns and complex traditional weaving techniques represent generations of Myanmar craftsmanship, with Amarapura becoming one of its most important weaving centres.
Acheik was historically worn by Myanmar kings, queens, royal family members and high-ranking officials. Today, although people of different countries may wear it, that does not change its historical origins or make it another culture’s heritage.
We have seen Acheik worn at Thai celebrations, beauty pageants, and used in entertainment productions. Cultural exchange is welcome, but presenting Myanmar’s heritage as Lanna or blending it into another fictional culture without clearly acknowledging its Myanmar origins is not acceptable.
This is also why we are speaking up about #ScarletHeartThailand and #ScarletHeartUllavee. Our traditional costumes and cultural elements are not fictional creations. They have real histories, identities, and communities behind them.
Myanmar’s political situation does not make our cultural heritage ownerless or give anyone the right to misrepresent it. We ask @GMMTV and everyone involved in cultural promotion to acknowledge the origins of Acheik and give Myanmar proper recognition.
Our heritage deserves respect, accurate documentation, and credit — not erasure. 🇲🇲
