NITI Aayog celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga today under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, reflecting the growing global recognition of yoga as a holistic approach to promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Embracing the spirit of International Day of Yoga, Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, celebrated the day alongside officers and staff of NITI Aayog through meditation, pranayama and yoga practices

Shri Rajiv Gauba, Prof. K. V. Raju, Dr. M. Srinivas and Dr. Joram Aniya, Members of NITI Aayog, also celebrated the occasion, reaffirming the importance of wellness and healthy living.

The celebration highlighted yoga’s role in fostering vitality, resilience and healthy ageing, while reinforcing its significance as a time-tested practice for holistic well-being.

In an unprecedented move, Government has raised the quantum of #onion buffer to five lakh metric tonne this year, after achieving the initial procurement target of three lakh metric tonne.

In this regard, the Department of Consumer Affairs has directed National Cooperative Consumer's Federation, NCCF and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation, NAFED to procure one lakh tonne each to achieve the additional procurement target alongside calibrated disposal of the procured stocks in major consumption centres.
