On 18 January, I will be the complainant in a public hearing in front of the trade union regulator after my union (the FBU) refused me access - unlawfully - to accounting records detailing secret payments to senior officials. Members of the public may view the hearing on Zoom.⬇️
Item on mental health on BBC this morning. A good time to share this incredibly honest & thought provoking video from Dave Waterman, who is a veteran of both the British Army and Fire service. Proud to have him as a PhD student. Some upsetting content. https://t.co/iDmRR34DTY
Getting a PhD takes around 6 years and stipends range from 15-30k a year on average
Clown college is 8 weeks and a clown salary is around 45-56k a year on average
What have I done…
Covid is a major threat to us, they said. You might kill granny if you don't follow our instructions, they said. You mustn't visit dying loved ones, they said.
Then they held a shindig, clinked glasses and lauged at us all.
The government has lost all moral authority.
@P_T_George@TfL The law allows self exemption. No medical proof required. In fact most GPs will refuse to provide written exemption for that very reason. Therefore it’s a pointless and unenforceable requirement.
@TheM0rri They promote healing far better than anything else I’ve tried. GPs and NHS physios tend to prescribe RICE and mobility exercises and nothing else in my experience. Have a word with your GP to see if she/he will prescribe. If not, let me know 👍
Quite a day for #ViolenceAgainstWomen. #SarahEverad and #SabinaNessa who just happened to be out at night, killed by men. 133 years ago today, the same thing happened to Elizabeth Stride and Kate Eddowes.
How many more times? How many more victims?
