@halleremps I try to take my day as slow as possible and think about what I can do in the moment that would be a:helpful to someone else (acts of servce are my love language) or b: would bring me joy/make me smile. On bad days I also try to stay off social media because I find them draining
So the only book I've managed to read in the last month is about long term stress, so now I'm stressed about being stress - what constitutes long-term? 25years???
In less than two years, we’ve gone from “we’re all in this together” and “flatten the curve to support frontliners” to “it’s your duty to keep working and get sick/die for the economy.” COVID is the virus, but capitalism has always been the pandemic.
In 2019, I was on track to graduate in 2020. Then in 2020, I was on track to graduate in 2021. Now I'm just a girl, staring at her dissertation with the deadest of eyes, wondering if there even is a track to graduation in 2022.
@lkHMusLibrarian For streaming I use a yeti nano - very similar to the snowball but more focus for 1 speaker instead of surrounding area. It comes on a weighted stand where you can change the angle, but you can also detach it and attach it to a different stand if you want.
Pretty proud of my undergraduate Porn Studies syllabus. I wish I could assign more! But there's only so much real estate. Here's what we're reading -- a thread.
The catalytic convertor on my SUV got sawed off and stolen this weekend... So ughh #winnipeg homies.... Watch out I guess... Like what do I even do now....
For 3 consecutive years I've endured a 3.75% tuition hike. I never complained because I thought it was going to our hardworking profs. Now that I know it contributed to the university's $94 million surplus, I am angry. #umfa2021#umfastrike @supportingumfa
So as a graduate student the #umfastrike hasn't affected me in the same way it has undergraduates. What it did affect? My counselling appointment that I put off making for over a year has been cancelled with no rebooking possible until the strike is over @supportingumfa
