I have just received a report that the Maleme river in the Matopos is running strongly and the dam has filled up rapidly and will spill soon. Here is a photo taken an hour ago.
Also I have received a report that the eastern Matopos received 100mm last night in the catchment area of @CityofBulawayo ‘s Mtshabezi dam, so I am eagerly awaiting news of that dam taking in significant quantities of water.
Thank you Lord God for answering our prayers. We still have a considerable way to go before our other dams fill but this rain is simply a Godsend.
The “I did not kill him” videos are proof that black women have been taught to neglect themselves, to value someone else’s happiness over theirs. To do anything but put themselves first.
Africa, please wake up!
Mozambicans are being shot dead by the police and state security services, with some visuals too graphic to share on public platforms.
This happened yesterday and continues today.
I urge Africans to make their voices heard on this issue.
This is why we are portrayed as a continent of hunger and death.
I have been asked to post more details regarding our @CityofBulawayo presentation to the #Africa Investment Forum held in Morocco last Thursday. The presentation was directed towards securing funding of US$ 99 million for the construction of Glassblock Bopoma dam and a 32km pipeline from
It to the the Ncema water treatment and pumping station
Here are a few excerpts from my presentation.
When I did my Grade 7, we were about 80. We had brilliant students, I think about 40 had 10units or below. Only about 20 of us went to Secondary School. The closest secondary School was Shongamiti & it was 10+km away. I even stayed abt 2 months at home after I left Lundi. Had it not been of Uncle Eshward who took me to Triangle I wld have probably ended up in the cracks.
I think of all those brilliant classmates of mine who failed to reach their potential simply because of where they were born. When I see the Chingwizi children I see Samuel, Esther & Philimon who had 6 points and never made it out.
It is unfair. But such is life. Anyway, here is the headmaster's office at Chingwizi. 662 children ..... 1, 2 , 3 .. 662 will probably end up recycled into poverty.
Next time you feel the urge to say “For a Dr/Academic, I don’t expect ABC…” or anything along those lines, pause and say to yourself, “Self, do I have a PhD?” If the answer is “No, Self, I do not”, straighten your shoulders and immediately register for a PhD.
Go through it.
Then find me on your graduation day and say “Maphosa, I’m going to behave like a Dr from now on. Watch and learn.” Then demonstrate every waking hour. Because SHOW don’t TELL is the best way to do it.
Until then, shut your pie-hole, little lamb 🤗
At the end of the day, what sets @freemanchari apart from most of us is that vazhinji tiri vemashoko, but Chari is about SOLUTIONS and ACTION!
We all know this. And when the current talk ends, as it will, talkers will find something else to talk about, and Chari will continue creating solutions and taking action. Even as we speak, he’s busy building classrooms with like-minded people and making a difference in poor, rural communities.
Solutions-and-action-oriented people are not confined to our sick politics; they’re active in multiple areas of life where they seek to change and improve the conditions of our people.
Anyone who is interested in getting things done knows the value of such people. We have too few of them.
Poverty is the greatest thief of dignity. I don’t blame vaZhakata or VaCharamba but my heart is sore for them. In a functional economy he wouldn’t need petty handouts. This is why folks vote for someone who gives them a bag of rice.
🔸The conviction of former Cabinet member and Senator @JamesonTimba reminds me of when I was convicted of an offence that does not exist. What I know is that he is innocent. The abuse of the legal system to persecute critics casts a dark stain on our Constitution. I stand in solidarity with him and all who are being persecuted with him.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼

You have time for everyone and everything else except the person you say means the most to you... Everything has a place in your schedule, and all these other priorities get your focused attention. Expect the things you say mean the world to you. And you wonder why they are mad.
