@wildlifeact@IUCNsos Good to see the shift- putting grantees and their logos first. They are on the front line and raising their profile to a broader audience should be a benefit of receiving IUCN grants.

On 6th February, 2025, IBCA and Go-Insight successfully hosted a side event titled "Collaborative Approaches to Big Cat Conservation: Strategies from IBCA and #CatByte" during the 78th SC meeting of @CITES.
Speakers from IBCA, Go-Insight, IUCN, and CatByte explored how IBCA's mission aligns with CatByte's transformative tech solutions to monitor, protect, and conserve #BigCats. Key discussions focused on:
๐นNeed of an organisation like IBCA to lead global efforts in conserving #BigCats.
๐นRole of technology & need for data-driven solutions in protecting big cats.
๐นCollaboration for effective conservation efforts.
Together, we are taking bold steps to safeguard these iconic species for future generations.

Understanding ecological drivers, and the various linkages and processes that ultimately shape human-wildlife conflicts is indispensable. Chapter 20 covers a selection of ecological research questions and the methods that can be used to help answer them. https://t.co/sdduXEjrhk
@EU_Commission@COP28_UAE@vonderleyen Clean environment goes hand in hand with nature. With what voice do you speak when you are stirring up wolf trouble? https://t.co/nFWuW3qPh5
@EU_Commission Dear @EU_Commission and @vonderleyen this is one of the most ridiculous posts I have ever seen. In fact I initially thought it was a parody. The EU should be advocating to create greenspace and protect wilderness. Wild animals like wolves are a key component of this.
Negative interactions with wildlife can significantly impact local people's livelihoods, which can exacerbate poverty and undermine well-being. Chapter 11 of the Guidelines explains the links between these terms and how they are connected to HWC:
