One journalist @HelleLyngSvends compares the Indian media to Saudi Arabia and Cuba, and all hell breaks loose. Let me go one step further. Our media — the Godi media — is worse than Radio Rwanda. We have anchors against whom cases related to inciting riots have been registered. We have an anchor who actually did a show on “15 types of Jihad” based on a WhatsApp forward.

Former Chief Justice of India Bobde had said during the Tablighi Jamaat case that our media had misused the freedom of expression. The entire propaganda surrounding Tablighi Jamaat was false — built on lies — and that is what our media has become: a riot-mongering machine and a sycophant of the BJP.

The problem is that we live in a country where the industrialists who own most television channels and the BJP appear to have reached an understanding that no serious questions will be asked of the BJP or the Prime Minister. Anybody questioning the BJP is labelled anti-national.

This is the reality of modern India under BJP. So let us accept the fact that the press in India is in an abysmal condition and freedom of expression is in the doldrums. Let us also not forget that India ranks 157th when it comes to press freedom.

Raids are conducted against NDTV and once the ownership changes hands all the cases are withdrawn . HW news , Newsclick, Quint is raided. Digital platforms are removed without any transparency and the Govt has to eat humble pie in the court( 4PM news network) Courts pass ex parte orders based on the application of an industrialist and all shows are ordered to be removed. You call this freedom of press ? Are you aware of what the broadcast bill is and what it aims to achieve? Stop this charade and stop looking for conspiracy theories everytime someone's asks Modi ji a question.

दो पूर्व प्रधानमंत्रियों के नाम याद आते हैं जिन्होंने जनता से ऐसी ही अपील की थी

पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री स्वर्गीय लाल बहादुर शास्त्री जी और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री स्वर्गीय इंदिरा गांधी जी।

दोनों ने ही राष्ट्रीय संकट के समय देशवासियों के स्वाभिमान और एकजुटता को जगाया।

1960 के दशक में भीषण अकाल और युद्ध के बीच, शास्त्री जी ने 'अन्न की कमी' से निपटने के लिए लोगों से हफ्ते में एक समय व्रत रखने की अपील की थी।

उन्होंने जनता से कहा कि यदि हम हफ्ते में एक समय का भोजन त्याग दें, तो देश के भंडार में अनाज बचेगा और हमें दूसरे देशों के सामने हाथ नहीं फैलाना पड़ेगा।

उन्होंने 'जय जवान, जय किसान' का नारा देकर देश को आत्मनिर्भर बनने की राह दिखाई।

इस अपील को सार्वजनिक करने से पहले शास्त्री जी ने खुद अपने परिवार के साथ मिलकर एक दिन का व्रत रखा था।

जब उन्हें विश्वास हो गया कि उनका परिवार भूखा रह सकता है, तभी उन्होंने देशवासियों से 'शास्त्री व्रत' रखने का आग्रह किया।

उनके इस आह्वान का देश पर इतना गहरा असर हुआ कि लाखों लोगों ने व्रत रखना शुरू कर दिया।

साथ ही कई होटलों और रेस्तरां ने भी सोमवार की शाम को अपना काम बंद कर व्रत रखा था।

वहीं, 1971 के युद्ध के दौरान इंदिरा गांधी ने शरणार्थियों के बोझ और रक्षा खर्च के लिए जनता से दान की अपील की।

उन्होंने स्वयं के आभूषण दान कर मिसाल पेश की।

उन्होंने नागरिकों से कम खर्च करने, बिजली बचाने और विलासिता की वस्तुओं के त्याग की भी अपील की थी ताकि संसाधनों का उपयोग सेना के लिए किया जा सके।

इससे प्रेरित होकर पूरे देश ने 'राष्ट्रीय रक्षा कोष' में बढ़-चढ़कर योगदान दिया।

ग़रीब से लेकर धन्नासेठों सभी ने बढ़-चढ़ कर दान दिया

राजनीतिक मतभेदों को भुलाकर पूरी जनता सरकार के पीछे खड़ी हो गई।

इस जन समर्थन से सरकार को कड़े फैसले लेने का नैतिक साहस मिला।

शास्त्री जी की 'व्रत' की अपील की तरह ही, इंदिरा गांधी की 'दान' की अपील को भी भारतीय इतिहास में 'साझा बलिदान' के एक बड़े उदाहरण के रूप में देखा जाता है

दुनिया भर में इतनी लोकप्रियता हो गई थी कि चुनाव जीतने के लिए हुमायूँ कबीर जैसे लोकप्रिय नेता को फ़्रंट बनाना पड़ा, कथित रूप से पैसे देने पड़े, उसके उम्मीदवार उतरवाने पड़े, फिर उसको किसी से सपोर्ट दिलवाना पड़ा, तब भी नहीं हुआ तो वोट काट देना पड़ा। अब इससे भी नहीं हो पा रहा होगा तो रिज़ल्ट मैनेज किया जाएगा फिर कहा जाएगा कि तीस राज्यों से एक लाख कार्यकर्ता तीन महीने से रह रहे थे। घर-घर अक्षत लेकर जा रहे थे। महिला कार्यकर्ता घरों में जाकर सिंदूर लगा रही थीं। नेता लोगों के घर नाश्ता कर रहे थे। अंडा खा रहे थे। मछली खा रहे थे। आपने भारत की राजनीति में हाथ में मछली लेकर किसी को वोट माँगते देखा था? भारत की राजनीति को भूत-भभूत का खेल बना दिया है। किसी समस्या को स्वीकार नहीं करना है। सवाल का जवाब नहीं देना है।खुद बोलना है न बोलने देना है। किसी का पोस्ट बैन करना है, किसी का वीडियो डिलीट करवाना है। गोदी ऐंकर इन सबको चुनाव लड़ने की मशीनरी बताएँगे। 27 लाख वोटर के नाम कटने की चुप्पी एक बार फिर साबित करती है कि गोदी मीडिया लोकतंत्र की हत्या में पार्टनर है। लोकतंत्र का हत्यारा है।

Then I asked them why she is a good teacher. They immediately answered that she listens to them, she teaches them with love and affection, she is kind to them, and she allows them to have fun while studying.

Now, if you want to teach somebody or if you want to learn, you need an atmosphere like the one Alice Ma'am has created for the students: one of love, affection and respect and where people can listen to each other and be kind.
