I think I speak on behalf of all Pistons fans when I say, 30 wins this season would’ve been a good year. To triple our win total, make the playoffs, end the playoff win drought - all with our second highest scorer missing most of the season - is absolutely incredible and we should all be super proud of this team.

The heart and the grit team showed all year long is something I have never seen from a Detroit Pistons squad in the decade I’ve supported them, and for that alone I am grateful.

This year we witnessed our new head coach steal our hearts, a $6m signing light the NBA on fire, our project draft pick become one of the league’s best defenders, and our exciting youngster become an NBA All-Star - moreso, an NBA Superstar - with so many unforgettable memories along the way.

This ain’t a ‘morale victory’ post. We gave the Knicks one hell of a battle, and we could’ve so easily won the series, it just wasn’t our time quite yet. But we’re so clearly ready to compete at this level for a long time. We’re going to be back so much stronger, the NBA better get prepared. Detroit Basketball is only just arriving.

A lot of people complain about the NBA.

Seems like people want a certain brand of basketball. An optically ethical one. And now there’s a new superstar who’s bringing back a franchise 90s fans love.

Cade Cunningham.

This man is about buckets. Pure, ethical buckets. And someone on Reddit proved it.

Cade has 13 games in his career with 20+ field goal attempts and ZERO free throw attempts. Doesn’t seem that crazy right?

Except MVP front runner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had ZERO games like that in his career. James Harden and Luka Doncic have each had ONE game like that.
