🇨🇺| Presidente @DiazCanelB:

US Gov. has justified economic warfare against #Cuba, including the oil blockade, in the claim that the island threatens the US.
From drones to Chinese & Russian spy bases to Hamas & Hezbollah, all lies to portray Cuba as a national security threat.

📕The 34th edition of the Havana International Book Fair will take place from August 10-16, 2026
The event will be dedicated to the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro,to the Russian Federation and to the distinguished 🇨🇺intellectuals Marilyn Bobes and José Bell Lara.

On Your Birthday
Happy Birthday, General! There is nothing
sad about the passing of time. Memory
will see you through the eyes of history,
beardless, almost a child at Moncada.
It will see you with flowing locks
in the Sierra Cristal, where glory
cleared the path to victory
that came with January and the dawn.
It will see you with your present image;
and tomorrow and beyond, resplendent,
ascending the final rungs
that small spirits cannot reach.
It doesn’t matter, General, to mark another year
when, at the same time, more dreams come true.

Statement by the Revolutionary Government:
The GAE is not the product of secrecy, nor of elites, and certainly not a means for a few to enrich themselves. On the contrary, it is one of the many examples that, throughout our history, has enabled us to resist the constant aggression of the United States government.
Its history was built, in the words of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz: “without the slightest desire for the limelight, as serious matters are done.”

Cuban Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro said Wednesday that American military action against the country could lead to "thousands of deaths."
If there's military aggression, "there will be a lot of destruction and it doesn't have any sense," she told PBS News Hour co-anchor @IAmAmnaNawaz. Vidal said Cuba doesn't seek conflict with the U.S. and hopes it can be avoided, but "it would be naive for us not to be ready in order to defend ourselves."
"I'm sure that the Americans ... will perfectly understand why Cubans are determined to defend our independence and not to have any foreign power to tell us what to do and how to do it," Vidal said, nodding to the symbolism of America's upcoming 250th birthday. "So this is the same sentiment, the same feeling you have for your independence that Cubans have for our independence. And we are determined to defend it because we cherish our independence."
Trump has described Cuba as an "extraordinary threat" to the U.S., accusing the country of acting as a sanctuary for adversaries.
Vidal disputed that allegation.
"The United States government is not telling the truth," she said. "On the contrary, we consider that the United States has always been an existential threat for Cuba."
