@JenLucPiquant Oh yes - a lovely book! Ray D'Inverno, in the overview of his book 'Introducing Einstein's Relativity', recounts reading and being inspired by Lieber's book, as a teenager. (I took D'Inverno's course on GR in the 3rd year of my physics degree, c. 1981)

Reading this week’s debate in the media about the lack of charging infrastructure, nobody reports that we already have 600,000 home charging connections and that 84% of EV drivers charge at home. Owners report to us that they use public chargers very occasionally. So why the hysteria….?

@eastcambscan Thanks. I've owned an EV for about 6 yrs though. (Have hardly driven at all for a few yrs, for life reasons.) Just getting back to longer trips so sampling current on-the-road charging. Almost all my recharging is at home at 7 kW.

EV recharge today as a test, Hive Leisure Centre, Ely. Nice Instavolt chargers & contactless payment. A little expensive. BMW i3 boosted from about 9% to 80%+ while I went for a coffee & a stroll (~ 40 mins).
