We’re rounding up our Mercury Senior League winners! 🏆
Congratulations to Holywood 1881 Women on being crowned champions of the Mercury Women’s Premier League! 🏏👏
A fantastic achievement, well done to everyone involved! 🏆
Well batted Nina Kerr (26) and Eva Cupitt (18) who top scored in this match for the @NCU_News U16 Girls v the North West, rescuing the team to set a total in a low scoring encounter. Both are top prospects, Nina as spinner / batter and Eva as batter / WK, and have performed very well in whatever opportunities they’ve received. Well played both and we look forward to seeing you compete for and earning opportunities going forward👏👏

A massive well done to Erin Bond on being named our Moorcroft Foods Player of the Match in today’s Gallagher Women’s Challenge Cup Semifinal against Waringstown. She scored 45 not out and took 3 for 15 in the W1’s 8 wicket win (Waringstown 156 all out), taking home the Crown for the 1st time.
The Team progresses again to the Final, their 3rd in 3 years. Huge well done to Madison Landsman and her troops.

There were great performances on Sunday 24th from Nina Kerr, Erin Bond and Madison Landsman in the W1 win against Muckamore by 145 runs (HCC 206 for 1. Muckamore 61 for 8).
Nina took 2 wkts for 6, including the Pro, Erin scored 57 not out and Madison Landsman scored 105. Great bowling also from “The Closer” Alex Atkinson to end the match, taking 4 for 20.
Nina and Alex are now tied for the most wickets in the Premier League with 7 each while Madison extends her lead as the League’s top run scorer with 283.
Well done to everyone involved. The W1 maintain their position at the top of the Premier League.

Well played to the W1 (174 for 1) who won by 62 at Waringstown (112 for 9). Batting contributions from Chrissie Soulsby (37), Erin Bond (a rapid 13 not out) and especially a first HCC 💯 from Madison Landsman (115 not out) posted a very strong total.
The bowlers had good scoreboard pressure behind them and all contributed with wickets; Erin 2, Madison 3, plus Nina Kerr, Alexis MacDonald and Alex Atkinson with 1 each.
Additionally it was great to see 3 players make their 1st Premier League appearance for Holywood; well done Lucie McNaught, Tillie Cunningham and Phoebe Kerr 👏. Madison retains the Tiara 👑 for Player of the Match and Alex takes home the terrible shirt.
Well done Team.

Thank you to Sullivan Prep for inviting @CoachKrugs into School to begin 2026 cricket with the youngest of the Sullivan Sharks. We're looking forward to the next several weeks #GoSharks
2026 will be the 30th Season since we left Belfast Road following the adjacent pitch height adjustment and levelling in 1996. We thought these photos would be interesting for those that remember and also for those that never knew the history of the ~90 years the Club spent there. If you’re driving past the Rugby Club on the dual carriageway you can still see the metal corrugated sight screen by the road.
Thank you again to @sullivan_upper and it’s then Headmaster John Young for accommodating us on the School’s back pitch for 8 Summers before our move to Seapark in 2005.

Throw back to the first ever Women’s League match for our Club between the 2 teams we had in the NCU League that took place May 5th 2019; the Bandits beating the Aces by 3 wickets.
Many matches and much development later it’s been quite a journey; 1st Club to have a Girl’s team, 1st to have a Female Overseas Player, 1st to have a full time Coach from Professional Cricket for the Girls and Women’s Section.
Despite the outside pressures our Club now plays in the top NCU League, produces home-grown Youth Internationals, develops many other quality players, has established a great relationship with its stakeholder Schools, is a welcoming place for everyone and all abilities and a Club that will continue to work towards being a leader in Irish Cricket. #HCC1881 #GoHawks
An excellent and unprecedented opportunity for all the players to travel to Cape Town 🇿🇦. We hope the Sullivan Sharks 🦈 taking part, and everyone else, enjoy it immensely #GoSharks
Iconic views 🏏🏟️
The NCU girls enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of Newlands Cricket Stadium, hosted by Russell Adams- former Instonians & Holywood overseas pro of the 90s and a global cricket operator with experience across the IPL, Cricket South Africa and MI Cape Town.
All-Ireland Final disappointment for our U15 Girls against @MerrionCC on Wednesday 13th. Unfortunately for such a great group of talented players we really didn’t get into top gear on the day and struggled to defend our score of 100 in a competitive way. Nonetheless, being consistently in contention at the All-Ireland level by winning matches on the pitch is a positive statement about the talent of the players produced and the Club’s commitment to them.

Unfortunately the W1 lost out to Waringstown in the @GallagherUK Women’s Challenge Cup Final on Sunday 3rd August. Our 115 all out fell 125 runs short of Waringstown’s total of 240 for 7.
Despite the score our bowlers put us in a competitive position at drinks, reducing Waringstown to 107 for 5, but a very deep batting lineup carried the opposition to 240. Well bowled everyone, especially to Lara Maritz and Madison Landsman for the great start we had, to Alex Atkinson for her economical spell, to Nina Kerr for her 4 wickets and to 13 year old Martha McKeown making her W1 debut.
In the batting half Madison Landsman’s 59 was the leading effort and very well made.
With such a young group and all home-grown players, except for our 2 non-residents, we’re looking forward to competing again in 2026 and to systemic competitiveness in the years beyond.
Thank you to Waringstown for hosting such a well supported and enjoyable day and to the @ncu_news for organising and promoting.

Congratulations to our U15 Girls (110 for 4) for winning the @NCU_News League last night against Lisburn (85 for 10). Holywood batted first in swinging conditions and Lisburn bowled extremely well. 2 early wickets required Lily Andrews (28) and Martha McKeown (18 not out), Nina Kerr (15) and Katie Bond (18 not out) to steady things and push the score to over 100.
In the Lisburn batting innings a 1st over runout from Phoebe Kerr made for a good start and 2 more wicket from the bowling tandem of Tamsin Hope and Nina Kerr consolidated this start. After a tight over from Izzy Wray, who unfortunately got injured, it was the accuracy and big in-swingers of Katie Bond that made a decisive impact as 2 wickets fell in the first of her 4 overs (1 run out) and the team began to get a stranglehold the longer she bowled. A key wicket for Sophia Robertson cemented the deal and her tight bowling pushed the required rate into double figures.
In the end a good winning margin of 25 runs, albeit one that doesn’t quite tell the true level of competitiveness of the match.
Congrats also to Coach Steve Kruger.
