Dear Donald Trump,
Sergeant Joshua Mark Leakey was awarded The Victoria Cross when aged 25, he ran under machine gun fire and rocket propelled grenades to rescue his injured comrade, a US Marine.
Not the "front line"?
My thoughts are with the families of the 457 courageous and patriotic British soldiers who gave their lives in Afghanistan and who served in some of the most dangerous places in the world. Their contribution will never be forgotten.
🗣️“It’ll be interesting going up against them, having played for them for so long, you know, seeing familiar faces, old faces, and also the new stadium, which I was a part of for a long time and seeing that get built and then to go and play there. It’s definitely something I’m looking forward to” - Dominic Calvert-Lewin
@doglab Ben is a legend and he shouldn't want for anything for the rest of his life. And neither should anyone who has a disability due to fighting for their country.
2016 - NOTHING TO LOSE
This photo was taken on 22 January 2016.
Exactly ten years ago - a sign at the end of the road and a small honesty shop in our conservatory.
Back then, Mossgiel Milk was just an idea we decided to act on when our farm was bankrupt - all we had was a fridge, a facebook account and a belief that food could be simpler, fairer and more honest.
Looking at this picture now, ten years later, almost everything is unrecognisable.
Since that day, we’ve:
Become organic
Created a natural Barista milk
Moved to a cow-with-calf approach on our own farm
Won a humbling number of awards
Started an organic coffee shop business
Built a delivery service across Scotland
Become a part community-owned business
Support other organic dairy farmers
Challenged people in the highest positions of the biggest businesses and political institutions in our industry
Bought our family farm
Removed single-use plastic from all our packaging
Employed over 200 people
Brought a completely UPF-free dairy line-up to market
Along the way, we’ve also made plenty of mistakes too, with as many moments of doubt as moments of real triumph... but what hasn’t changed is why we started.
1. To make and share proper food.
2. To be honest about our journey
3. To prove small farms still matter.
4. To show that doing the right thing isn’t outdated - it’s essential.
Ten years on Mossgiel is bigger, louder, more complex and far more challenging than it was in that conservatory but our principles and values have never changed - and we’re only getting started!
Open Letter to the President of the United States and His Administration
As Mayor of Kommune Kujalleq – the region of Greenland where the majority of the country’s rare earth elements and strategic minerals are located – I feel a clear responsibility to speak plainly and without reservation.
Greenland’s subsoil is not for sale through political pressure, dismissive rhetoric, or a lack of respect. Period.
The interest shown by you and your administration in Greenland’s resources carries obligations – not only legal, but moral and political. When Greenland, our institutions, our allies, and our people are spoken of with disregard, trust is eroded. And without trust, there is no access. Not a single gram.
As mayor, I will never accept that the citizens of my municipality should feel unsafe or uncertain about what is taking place in their own backyard – politically, economically, or in terms of security. Our land and our communities are not pieces on a great-power chessboard.
Greenland has some of the strongest and most responsible mineral resource legislation in the Nordic region. These laws exist to protect people, nature, and future generations. They will be enforced in full – regardless of who seeks to operate in Greenland, and regardless of the size or power of the nation involved. They are not subject to negotiation.
The Greenlandic people hold authority over their land and their resources. And if there is one thing your administration currently lacks in this matter, it is respect: respect for our democracy, respect for our legislation, respect for our allies, and respect for our people.
Jobs and promises of increased revenue can never be used as currency to bypass the law or the will of the people. If mining activities are not carried out in full compliance with Greenlandic law and with genuine respect for the population, there will be no mining. It is that simple.
Not a single gram of Greenland’s minerals will be extracted without order, respect, and responsibility.
Sincerely,
Malene Vahl Rasmussen
Mayor – Kommune Kujalleq – Greenland

Putin spends millions from Russia's budget to subject Ukrainians to a life without heating, electricity and water during a harsh winter. He wants hospitals, schools, nurseries to stop working. He strives to freeze the homes where kids and adults, the elderly and the sick live.
None of the millions of Russians protest against that - instead, they approve. That's their level of hatred, cruelty and lack of any sense.
Ukrainians are going through a terrible ordeal.
Ukraine is waiting for spring and hoping for peace.
Putin needs to be in prison, not on the Board of Peace.
Went back to school yesterday with Merlin Rohl, Harrison Armstrong and Charly Alcaraz, what a great day, these lads represented the club tremendously, an absolute credit to the Everton name! You can see it ahead of the game v Leeds on @SkySportsNews @Everton
"South East Water... has paid almost as much in interest and dividends in the past 15 years as it has invested in its infrastructure".
35 years of privatisation and failure in a single sentence. Remove the words South East Water and insert the name of your local water company, it all tells the same story.

Ryanair CEO addresses his recent spat with Elon Musk in new press conference:
"The Starlink people believe that 90% of our passengers would happily pay for wifi access. Our experience is tells us less than 10% would pay; He (Elon) called me a r*tarted twat. He would have to join the back of a very very queue of people that already think I'm a r*tarded twat, including my four teenage children. But we do want to thank him for the wonderful boost in publicly. Our bookings are up 2-3% in the last few days. So thank you to Mr. Musk, but he's wrong on the fuel drag. Non European citizens cannot own a majority of European airlines, but if he wants to invest in Ryanair we think it would be a very good investment."
Excuse my French but, this is the most fucking disgraceful and disgusting statement made by any American president ever.
Almost 700 British soldiers died in America’s war on terror after the only time Article 5 of the NATO Charter was invoked to come to the aid of the United States.
Soldiers from many NATO nations lost their lives alongside the Brits and US soldiers, so how can a five times fucking draft dodger have the audacity to spit on the graves of heroes that DID answer America’s call?
We are sick and tired of the lies the threats and the bullying. Enough is enough, if it’s economic war you want, maybe it’s time to call in all our US debt and the EU aligns with Canada and China, because nothing could be worse that this betrayal from a ‘so-called’ friend.
Who needs enemies when you have a malignant narcissist as a friend?
It’s Greenland by the way, not Iceland you dim wit fuck.

I suspect we might come to look on Mark Carney’s speech in Davos a little like Winston Churchill’s “iron curtain” speech in Fullerton in brilliantly articulating the threats of a new and different global age. It s worth reading in full.
