i take issue with how they had rhaenyra crying &shaking while beheading otto and taking the throne. they would not have written it like this if rhaenyra was a man
If Aegon's claim was so strong, why did the Greens hide Viserys's death, rush a secret coronation, imprison people who refused to support Aegon, and crown him before Rhaenyra even knew her father was dead? Sounds like usurpation to me.
i will forever think the storming of the dragonpit was a lazy way to get rid of all the dragons especially because of what happened to syrax and dreamfyre, it felt rushed and poorly written and it does not make sense to me
The series is called House of the Dragon, yet the woman who is arguably its central protagonist never gets a defining dragon duel. Her story becomes all about motherhood and grief.
Even relatively minor dragonriders have major aerial battles.
Yet Rhaenyra and Syrax never do.
We hear so much about her love for dragon riding. Her bond with syrax, how she has been flying with her since she was 7 years of age. And then to give syrax not s single combat, and give it the most undignified death that a 33 year old dragon can have is honestly just saddening.
"She was the queen, and was grieving, how can she engage in dragon duel" - Aegon was also the king, yet he gets a battle. He too lost his son, was half burnt, and yet keeps getting battles. Aemond after crowning himself king continues to go into battles.
It’s hilarious how Apple keeps curating these auteur-driven critically acclaimed projects with with some of the greatest actors we have and NO ONE is watching, meanwhile Netflix are reporting record viewership for season 7 of the worst slop you’ve ever seen
My dad told my daughter she was the best duster ever then leaned in to me and whispered “if you tell kids they’re amazing at the chore they don’t bitch about doing it” and suddenly I’m questioning if I really was the most amazing weed-puller he ever saw
