In some circumstances, riders and our association have found themselves in need of criticising the organisation of some races for safety problems that have occurred.

Instead, today we would like above all to congratulate the excellent decision taken by @rcssport and the jury on yesterday's stage of the #GirodItalia, for having promptly neutralised the race and allowed the riders who had suffered a bad crash to recover and be rescued, and the entire peloton to complete the race without stress and with a spectacular final sprint.

We would like @rcssport to be taken as an example by all organisers who will find themselves in the same situation in the future. 🙏

The riders stopped during the Tre Valli Varesine due to excessive water accumulation on the roads, which in some sections reached as high as the disc rotors. Riders described the conditions as "rivers flowing across the roads," with "moving stones and mud on the surface," making visibility nearly impossible during descents. Faced with worsening weather, they made a united decision to stop for their own safety.
