every once in a while I remember that the 30 Rock universe has an Edward James Olmos impersonator named Edward James Almost and it carries me through the day
@BradleyOnishi I wonder if it's her & maybe she's had work done? (which also explains the long absence from the campaign trail)
(but yeah, I wouldn't put it past them to use a double)
@clhubes ๐ this, though.
And LADIES, SOME of y'all will be happier without kids, period (much less as trad wives), & you won't know it unless you hang out with moms & kids for x number of hours. That is what I did, & wow, can't recommend it enough if you have even a shred of doubt.
I've struggled with how to talk about this in a way that doesn't sound condescending. I like this phrase:
"Church is not for me."
In the same way red onions aren't for me.
@Ethantp @deckthedan She gets on my nerves here & there, but I loved her on scrubs so I give her a pass. I mean, creator's-wife privileges I guess ๐
Let's all be today years old as we reassure each other that this is made up bullshit; there is no "right side" of your trash bags. Do whatever you want.
@brent_waggoner Haha, UGH. Props to you for the kindness; I can't. Fuck these guys who make a living gaslighting other men into believing that a joyless, orgasm-less wife is the gold standard.
This is basically a long way of saying:
Please stop using my people as props for your broken American evangelical theological agenda. Focus on fixing the deeply broken American Church before exporting your broken brand of Christianity and disrupting the Global South Churchโs faithful work on the margins.
Instead of patronizingly presuming what we need, spend time listening and asking about what we really need. Because what we need is the Western Churchโs resources to reverse the effects of centuries of colonization.
We donโt need more western missionaries; we need more safe water, food security, climate action, and trauma-informed justice systems.
