@ProcyonLottor@LupintheI What I meant by "future optimization" is that game makers will optimize their games for the Steam Machine's hardware. That has been the crux of PC vs console is there are so many PC configurations. Like how it is with the Steam Deck, games will be optimized for its specs.
@LupintheI Well, all that, plus the future optimization for a standardized hardware set, I would say in the hundreds of dollars. In other words, I have a PC with better specs but I will be selling it and getting the Steam Machine, it is worth that much to me.
@LupintheI Does this have CEC capabilities, quick resume from the controller, one year warranty from a single company, come prebuilt, and have Steam Os already installed?
@afoxdesign Another thing to consider - even with the subsidized console and overpriced games, they still need to sell subscriptions and raise game prices, and struggle to keep the console market profitable.
@afoxdesign I prefer this way. I have never liked consoles or printers making something seem cheaper just to inflate something else. If I only buy one steam machine and buy a lot of games, I save money in the long run than if they machine were subsidized by more expensive games.
@Sabre_AZ Possibly. I do like that they have told people that, if the machine is too expensive for people, they can do like you and make their own. They are working hard to make Steam OS workable on all hardware types, so all types of people will be happy.
@Sabre_AZ Now, with that said (along with other things like not having to buy the parts and build yourself and install OS and apps, etc), people will need to decide for themselves if it is worth it. I also like that there will be a standard hardware setup that games will optimize for.
@JimRoland15 I love being old. I love getting gray. Makes me feel alive. I am moving forward, not staying still. I am using this body to its fullest and I am level 41!
@NoMansSky Not to disrespect this update, but you added a super weapon capable of destroying fleets BEFORE you gave us the ability to use our freighter and frigates for coordinated battles and flying around in system? It would have been amazing to battle this huge enemy with our fleet.
@pedro_lv_42@WallStreetApes And because of this, if your 4k movie ever became unavailable (Unlikely, but possible) you would lose access to it because you couldn't have it downloaded to keep.
@pedro_lv_42@WallStreetApes Yes. The same happened for me. I think it is awesome they do that. The point I was making was that (unlike the lower resolutions) you cannot download 4k movies to your Apple TV - only stream.
@pedro_lv_42@WallStreetApes The potential of the same problem lies in any digital media platform. You don't buy the movie, you purchase the right to view it as long as they provide it. And I don't believe you can download 4k. But I do prefer Apple TV over others.
