Deaths in the US so far in 2026, by cause:
Drowning: approximately 1000 (22 kids in Texas alone)
Mushroom poisoning: 4
Rattlesnake: 3
Lightning: 2
Marathon: 1
Measles: 0
And, oh yeah, overdose: approximately 30000
Let's try to scare people some MORE about measles, huh?
Adam Carolla has an old line about how if you want to destroy somebody’s life, just give them free rent in a shitty little house. You’ll come back 30 years later and find them still living in that shitty little house, because it was just too good of a deal for them to go out and do all the things that they would’ve otherwise done to improve their lives.
your "fact" is utter bullshit. Iowa and Iowa State famously in 2023 had players permanently banned for gambling infractions infinitesimally smaller than Soresby's. In Iowa's case a player who bet a single time. $10 on a Caitlin Clark NCAA tourney game, and self-reported. Iowa & ISU fans grumbled, and the universities appealed to the NCAA, not some judge in Des Moines.
The NCAA turned down their appeals. And that was it. The players lost their eligibility. They coaches, Ferentz and Campbell accepted the punishment like gentleman and moved on. Not every college football program is a shameless open-air whorehouse.
It's the 1993-94 season and Wake Forest has a promising young freshman named Tim Duncan. Also on that team is a back-up sophomore guard named Stacey Castle. Tim Duncan would go on to college and NBA greatness. While the NBA wasn't in Stacey Castle's future, fatherhood was.
In 2004, Stacey's son Stephon Javonte Castle was born. You know the rest.

The Democratic Party now is some weird combination of Communists, Nazis, globalists, and nonprofit grifters, and their base is mostly hobos, terrorists, and mentally ill women with a tenuous grasp on reality and anxiety disorders of high rank.
This is a total bummer. I went to San Antonio, for Game 1, ALONE, in a lightweight-Knicks-collared-shirt and was treated with absolute kindness. Really hope @NYCMayor responds appropriately.
Knicks fans screaming about the league not retroactively upgrading Victor Wembanyama’s foul should actually be counting their blessings tonight.
Why? Because while they were focused on Wemby, I'm told the NBA league office was reviewing this entire bench clearing sequence and specifically the actions of Jose Alvarado who previously served a major three-game suspension for having been involved in a nearly identical bench-clearing incident in 2024 against the Miami Heat.
When the scuffle kicks off under the basket, several Knicks players leave the bench area in violation of the rules and Alvarado gets right in the middle of the scrum.
He is seen pushing, heavily engaged with both Luke Kornet and De'Aaron Fox, waving his finger and escalating the tension getting face to face with Fox.
Under the NBA’s strict bench-clearing rules, he is undeniably not acting as a "peacekeeper."
The Knicks players left the bench before San Antonio called timeout.
If the league had decided to apply the letter of the black and white law regarding bench conduct and physical escalation, as they have multiple times this season, New York could easily be down a crucial backcourt piece or 4 for Game 4.
Take the Wembanyama non-upgrade as a wash and be thankful, because the Knicks dodged a massive suspension bullet here. 🧵

The same people who chant “no one is illegal” suddenly think an arena on the WH lawn is illegal.
The same people who don’t bat an eye at homeless encampments are outraged that the WH lawn arena is “ugly.”
The same people who call voter ID “racist” now demand the WH have the right documents for a temporary building.
Months of work, condensed into seconds. Watch the transformation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool as crews drained, repainted, and refilled one of America's most iconic landmarks ahead of a busy summer season in Washington, D.C.
This is all bullsh*t. Prior to 2014 California took 48 hours to certify. The Democrats put this system into place deliberately and systematically - NONE of this is "incompetence" or "lack of funds". You can follow the exact legislation Newsom and Brown signed into law to make this happen:
SB 29 (2014): Enacted the "postmark rule" (allowing ballots to arrive 3 days late) and extended the county canvass to 30 days to handle the influx.
AB 187 (2014): Aligned state timelines, giving the Secretary of State until Day 38 to officially certify the results.
SB 589 (2015) & AB 1407 (2017): Established the "ballot curing" framework, forcing counties to notify voters of missing or mismatched signatures and giving them a statutory window to fix them during the canvass.
SB 759 (2018): Standardized the cure timeline, mandating that counties allow voters to cure signature issues up to 2 days before the final certification.
AB 860 / SB 29 (2020–2021): Permanently extended the postmark arrival window to 7 days, further expanding the processing and signature-curing buffer within the 38-day limit.
Proposition 71 (2018): Delayed the effective date of ballot measures until 5 days after the 38-day certification to account for these extended counting and curing windows.
nobody finds pratt’s loss suspicious. but when the distant third place candidate breaks down in tears on election night with what is basically a concession speech, then overwhelmingly dominates everyone for days in harvested mail-in ballots, yes that looks bad.
Data suggest that additional human beings do not impoverish the rest of humanity.
Between 1980 and 2025, the world population grew by 85%, while global resource abundance increased by 536%.
Schools saying they will refuse to schedule Texas Tech is one thing.
But the real question is whether the Big 12 steps in to stop the Red Raiders from playing Brendan Sorsby after a Texas judge overruled the NCAA: https://t.co/c1YjmQhoN4
