The collaboration integrates LayerZero's cross-chain messaging protocol with the IOTA EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) Layer 2 solution, which was launched by the IOTA Foundation.
Key details of the partnership:
Omnichain Functionality: @LayerZero_Core ' s integration provides IOTA with omnichain functionality, allowing for seamless communication and asset transfers between IOTA EVM and other major EVM networks like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Optimism.
Stargate V2 Bridge: This functionality is achieved through Stargate Finance's V2 bridge, which is powered by LayerZero's omnichain framework. The IOTA team specifically highlighted Stargate Finance as a key part of this integration.
Enhanced Ecosystem: The integration aims to connect the IOTA ecosystem to the broader Web3 space, opening up new opportunities for decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi solutions to leverage cross-chain collaboration.
Previous Integration: LayerZero's messaging infrastructure was previously integrated with the @iota-related Shimmer network at the end of 2023, paving the way for the IOTA EVM integration.
