@LunarResearcher I need someone to build an app, where from X, I can share agent lectures, have it transcribe & turn into a prompt I can share with my agent to discern if it’s worth my time, & if so, how to set it up. Thx
@ryan_doser13 Just different barriers of entry. Not everyone needs to, or wants to learn how to work with proper agents. Low IQ to not see why there’s a premium on usability.
@Reichards_@lucas_builds@MameliFilippo Businesses are choosing Claude. One enterprise customer might pay a million x more than a single average ChatGPT user & Anthropic is leading (by wide margin) in enterprise. It’s really the best business model for AI. Hence OpenAI now prioritizing it.
Zuck is following a playbook used most effectively by post atomic bomb Japan.
After the war Japan tried to rehab their image as to not look so threatening to the rest of the world.
They effectively went from an island of imperialist’s to a cute shit culture factory.
Post the Cambridge Analytica revelations, we see Zuck beginning to rehab his image. Messy hair, oversized T’s, MMA fuckboy. What they’re doing with AI is effectively the same thing.
Kevin Systrom was head of Instagram for years after acquired by Facebook.
Jan Kuom remained the head of WhatsApp after acquisition.
Nate Mitchell led as Head of VR when Facebook made its VR bet.
But Zuck remained the face.
So why is Alexandar Wang getting so much media real estate? I’d argue it’s not just because he had pre-existing name recognition, but Meta is intentionally rehabing their brand to *feel* less threatening despite everyone knowing what game they’re playing, by making the face a cute little Asian boy who wears crocks on stage and north faces on interviews.
And the writing is on their branding. See image.
Don’t let this harajuku cutsie shit fool you.
Meta is and always will be a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Probably the realest thing I have heard Chamath say
"Possessions are BS. They are worthless. They are a sign of insecurity, a rampant ego, and an unsettled mind. And that is okay if you are going to be a mid."
When it comes to SpaceX I sort of assume that whatever Elon is saying data centers in space are for is a stepping stone to something else. The mission to go to mars will include new on business models till it’s realistic. Starlink as an example.
My guess on space data centers is it’s less about compute for earth but for getting compute + internet to autonomous robots that service a future space economy. Picks & shovels.
Harder to sell that to public market investors than selling a solution to earths current compute constraints.
Don’t know what goes on in Elons head but I’d guess he thinks building for the future means making big bets on a currently small market that will grow rather than building for a market that already exists, something I’ve heard from you. At least it’s been his pattern.
