...tiger woods man. Anyways, Justin Thomas, who is a tour pro, had NEVER heard of this. So while you may be convinced. Im going to wide with JT and say its horseshit, and nobody is OWED a record if it could be broken. Athletics and most of life is about earning it. You believe what you want man
@ChadMorris@Luke_Elvy Where is the disrespect? Wheres the outstanding Martin Kaymer performance of late? We can google it and see.... what are we doing here?
Over his last 25 tournys, hes had 2 top 10s on LIV, 17 and 24 tournaments ago. A T19 at the BMW International in Germany - A tournament that had Patrick Reed, David Puig, and Rasmus Neergaard as the betting favorites. In his last 10 tournaments 1 T25, and nothing else inside 30th. I think surprise hes performing so well on day 1 is more than ok. And has zero to do with American arrogance.
There’s a mix of arrogance & ignorance from America golf people that if it didn’t happen on US soil - it hasn’t happened at all! It was the thing I found most baffling in my 15 years broadcasting golf in America. Surprised Kaymer was as cordial as he was.
Not saying I disagree with the decision to penalize Garrick Higgo, BUT…
We all know if Rory McIlroy was “late” to his tee time by a few seconds, the PGA of America wouldn’t have penalized him.
And if they did, the golf media would be apoplectic over the move, not defending it.
Cameron Young revealed this morning that he recently became aware his Titleist Pro V1x Double Dot prototype golf ball would be conforming under the new proposed ODS test conditions set to be implemented for golf's roll back in 2028.
Said he noticed no distance lost.
Young has won three times since putting the ball in play in August and hit the longest drive in the Shot Link era on the 18th hole at TPC Sawgrass (375 yards) en route to winning the Players.
The Double Dot is supposed to be a lower spinning ball, so not sure if making it conforming under the new standards was intentional.
I didnt really properly take up golf until I left Colorado. I was probably a 20+ handicapper. What I mean by that is I never practiced, paid any attention to being better. This is about a decade ago now since I left. GVR for me was a trek and expensive, I lived around the corner from Murphy Creek so played there a lot. Another course I have fond childhood memories of is South Suburban. I hear tho its nothing like It was in the 90s/early 2000s.
