🦔The US Treasury bought Japanese yen on Friday for the first time since 2011. But it didn't sell dollars to do it. The NY Fed sold euros and bought yen on behalf of the Treasury through Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, according to the Financial Times. A Reuters photographer caught Treasury Secretary Bessent's notepad at a Camp David cabinet meeting. It read "To Do Buy Japanese Yen $5-10 bil." Japan spent $58.97 billion in a single day to defend its currency, the largest intervention in its history. In January, Bessent refused to help.

My Take
Japan holds $1.19 trillion in US Treasury bonds, the largest foreign holder on earth. When the yen falls this far, Japan sells those bonds to raise dollars and defend its currency. Every bond Japan sells adds supply to the US bond market and pushes yields higher. The 30-year yield hit 5.23% this week, highest since 2007. Your mortgage, car loan, and credit card APR all follow Treasury yields. The US sold euros to buy yen because if it sold dollars instead, that would weaken the dollar, which goes against US policy. So the euro took the hit and Europe didn't get a vote.

Bessent refused to touch the yen six months ago. Friday he bought it with euros through Goldman and Morgan Stanley. Japan also has access to the Fed's FIMA Repo Facility, which lets it borrow dollars against its Treasury holdings instead of outright sales. That could keep over a trillion in US bonds off the open market and hold yields where they are. Japan and the US may announce a joint currency policy as early as next week. A currency crisis in Tokyo just became a US fiscal priority because the chain from a weak yen to a higher American mortgage payment runs straight through the Treasury bond market.

🚨EVERYTHING IS GOING EXACTLY AS I SAID!!!

It IPO'd, ripped, and everyone called it the buy of the decade. Now we're at $110 and the chart has already broken.

And this was the easy part. Here's the full map, day by day:

IPO → the top

Down to $70 first. Then the reversal that makes people rich.

Why the drop has to happen the math is brutal and public:

→ Only ~4% of shares actually trade. Nasdaq bent the float rule to let this listing through.
→ It got jammed into the indexes, so every passive fund was forced to buy near the top.
→ Insiders still hold 96% of the supply.
→ The first unlock hits August 6 at Q2 earnings ~20% of insider shares go free and the float doubles overnight.
→ Then it doubles again through the fall, all the way to full unlock.

Sit with that. This entire collapse happened on a tiny float with almost no supply. The actual wall of stock hasn't even arrived yet. That's what takes us to $70.

And look at the backdrop: Apple's printing new highs while SPCX bleeds to fresh lows. That's not a market problem - that's a SpaceX problem. Hype dead, capex enormous, valuation near 100x sales, unlock cliff dead ahead.

But here's the part nobody's ready for: once that last unlock clears and the forced sellers are gone, the supply overhang disappears.

That's when it reverses: $70 → $110 → $200 → $300.

The bottom isn't where you panic. It's where you position.

Everything I said would happen is happening. No surprises.

TONIGHT IS TISHA B'AV....WHAT IS IT?

Tisha B’Av is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.

It marks the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, centuries apart, on the same Hebrew date: the 9th of Av.

The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE after a brutal siege of Jerusalem. The city was devastated, countless Jews were killed or enslaved, and Jewish national life was shattered.

But Tisha B’Av is not only about ancient history.

Jewish tradition teaches that the Second Temple was destroyed because of sinat chinam—baseless hatred between Jews.

That is why the day is both national and personal: we mourn what was lost, and we ask what must be repaired.

The answer is ahavat chinam—greater unity, respect, and love among the Jewish people.

Rome destroyed the Temple.

It did not destroy the Jewish people.

She also discussed how USAID funded journalists not only to report the news, but also to “fact-check” incoming information.

USAID directed nearly $500 million to the Internews Network, a little-known NGO funded by the U.S. government. The organization worked with 4,291 media outlets, produced 4,799 hours of broadcasts in a single year, reached as many as 778 million people, and trained more than 9,000 journalists by 2023. Internews also supported social media censorship initiatives.

USAID also funded and trained thousands of lawyers, judges, and election workers, conducted polls that questioned election legitimacy, published reports alleging fraud, and participated in overseeing new elections both in the United States and abroad, among many other activities.

On the contrary, Elon Musk and DOGE actually saved millions of children. By cutting USAID influence, they let parents freely reject leftist failures on crime, economy, and socialism at the polls without manipulation.
