This news of heavy gunfire between Iru Ekun Squad and Bokoharam invaders in the forest of SW really made terror supporters happy, unfortunately for them, their joy will be shortlived right inside that same forest. No member of Iru Ekun Squad is reported dead despite the battle, injury is normal in war. The Bokoharam terrorists opened fire because Sunday Igboho's Boys are closing on them, and the fact that Igboho's men engaged them successfully showed they're fully prepared for this great final battle! Their medical team are also readily stationed to attend to those wounded.
Now, naysayers can confirm that IRU EKUN SQUAD is in deep forest of Yorubaland, no argument about that. Secondly, they have become a major threat to the existence of killer herdsmen and Bokoharam in that forest. And the task to rid SW of Sahel terror has practically began!
PLEASE THE CURFEW AROUND THE 10 LGS SURROUNDING OLD OYO NATIONAL PARK IS STILL IN FORCE, HAS NOW BEEN EXTENDED TO FULL DAY AND NIGHT....
Good Job Iru Ekun!!!!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Today, Nigeria marks a major milestone with the launch of FreeTV, a national digital television platform that will provide households across the country with free access to digital television, which offers more channels, sharper picture quality and rich Nigerian content without any monthly subscription fees.
The platform will offer access to over 100 national, regional and state television channels, featuring a diverse range of programming including news, sports, movies, music, children’s entertainment, educational content, and dedicated channels in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo languages.
FreeTV will be accessible via satellite, terrestrial transmission, and the FreeTV mobile app, to ensure seamless access for citizens in major cities, towns, rural communities and even areas that were not covered during the earlier phases of the DSO pilot programme.
Importantly, Nigerians will not need to purchase new television sets to enjoy the service. Existing TVs can be used with compatible DVB-T2 or DVB-S2 decoders, while households that already own compatible free-to-air decoders may not need to buy any additional equipment.
FreeTV is expected to boost Nigeria’s creative and broadcasting industries through the establishment of regional production studios in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Benin. The initiative will create new opportunities for content creators, producers, editors, camera operators and thousands of young creatives across the country.
JUST IN: Ex-Governor Lamido Dëclares Sùppørt Deregistration of Some Political Parties
According to report by The Nation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, former Jigawa State Governor and PDP stalwart, Sule Lamido, has come out in support of the deregistration of some political parties, insisting that the action aligns with constitutional provisions and the rule of law.
Speaking in Dutse on June 16, 2026, Lamido emphasized that Nigeria’s Constitution remains the highest legal authority in the country, and every institution created under it, including the judiciary, legislature, and political parties must operate within its framework and be respected when carrying out their duties.
He urged Nigerians, especially political actors, to avoid undermining the judiciary or other democratic institutions simply because court rulings do not favour their personal or partisan interests.
According to him, respecting institutional decisions is essential for the survival and stability of democracy.
Lamido noted that the judiciary draws its authority directly from the Constitution and is empowered to interpret laws and issue binding judgments.
He stressed that once such powers are exercised within constitutional limits, compliance becomes a civic responsibility.
“We gave ourselves a Constitution, and it established all democratic institutions. When they act within their mandate, their decisions must be obeyed,” he was quoted as saying, warning against selective acceptance of court rulings.
He further cautioned that democracy could be weakened if individuals or groups consistently attack institutions whenever outcomes are unfavourable to them.
Strong institutions, he said, remain the backbone of national development and democratic progress.
On the state of opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, Lamido dismissed claims that recent political shifts would significantly weaken opposition parties.
He argued that many of the actors currently presenting themselves as opposition figures are recycled politicians who have moved across parties over time.
He maintained that the PDP remains structurally intact despite defections, adding that changing party affiliations does not necessarily change the identity of political actors involved.
Lamido also refused to interpret court decisions already settled by law, insisting that disagreements should be pursued through legal appeal processes rather than political agitation.
Reaffirming his commitment to constitutional governance, he concluded that Nigeria’s democracy can only thrive when citizens consistently uphold the rule of law and respect for democratic institutions.

It was Lagos that gave Africa its richest man, not Kano. Aliko Dangote is a Lagos man. Again, it was not Kano but Lagos that gave Africa its second richest man, Abdulsamad Ishaq Rabiu (BUA). Lagos made almost everybody who is who in Nigeria.

Mr @ruffydfire, you are not a journalist.
In journalism, when you have goofed, you accept it and correct your error(s) by doing what is called CORRIGENDUM.
Also, TRAINED and PROFESSIONAL journalists don't stay on social media to look for validation. Rather, they do their reports and allow the public to form opinions on them.
Most importantly, responsible journalists don't go about driving against traffic rules and threatening to call the Governor when caught.

Senegal's crisis proved that borrowing trillions to artificially lower the cost of living leads straight to bankruptcy. Removing the subsidy is what stopped Nigeria from going over that exact same cliff 📉🔥.
