@abcnews Despite ongoing contact with @VicBuilding, we have not received any assistance. Despite the implementation of the Code of Conduct and the VBA outlining that they were “working to overcome issues surrounding orphaned permits”, when contacted help is not forthcoming.
This statement appears on the VBA website, "As part of the Code of Conduct, the VBA is working to overcome issues surrounding orphaned permits". Where is the evidence that this is the reality? https://t.co/q5O949knNk @VicBuilding@rwynnemp#vbadoyourjob

The Federal Government’s protection of “a few big interests” was on show last week when it voted against accountability proposals from the Royal Commission into Aged Care. Dr Sarah Russell reports. https://t.co/7pFoHoHGzm via @MichaelWestBiz
Now back to serious aged care advocacy.
I have purchased shares in Japara - so I can attend their AGM on Friday.
I plan to ask Andrew Sudholtz 6 questions.
1. Is Japara committed to improving staff numbers and training in all Japara aged care homes?
@gedkearney@the_shb
@AgedMatters@gedkearney@the_shb @MakeMayoMatter Great work. My mother was in a Japara Aged care facility. The only way we could get them to change was going to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. As I no longer spend time at the facility, my concern is whether the changes made are still in place.
@MikeCarlton01 Hopefully the end will be swift, so the community doesn’t have to hear any more hate speech from this entitled, spittle fueled narcissist.
@anmf_federal Today, sadly my mother lost her battle with dementia. I have agitated for changes in Aged Care and will continue this fight. It is really important that we have ratios in Aged Care to ensure the residents get the level of care they deserve.
Bernard Cooney outlined the systemic problem in Aged Care by stating, “My concerns arise from the essential depersonalisation of very vulnerable residents”. Like anyone who regularly visits a relative in care, there far to many stories. #agedcarerrc#elderlymatter
“I do not hold the staff members responsible for their frequent failure to respond within a reasonable time to such calls. There are often insufficient numbers on duty to attend to the needs of residents." https://t.co/zVQnrDsl54

I have been complaining to a Japara organisation for a while and it is clear from the ongoing issues regarding the staffing levels at a facility my mother is a resident in, the focus is on profit.

@HelloCareAU@CarePageAU @KenWyattMP @AgedMatters @CEO_LASA @LASANational@anmf_federal Ratios can’t affect a service that isn’t being given. Not enough staff means residents don’t get toileted regularly leading to UTI’s etc, and most of the time residents aren’t being offered hydration at regular intervals. Hydration and hygiene are vital to health and wellbeing
