$HKD is a trip. A stock owned more than entirely by institutions, running for no easily describable reason, can’t be shorted, can’t play options, never got halted. Just… a tiny company becoming one of the most valuable in the world. Nothing anyone can say or do about it

@Nakamotolisk That was the reason I mentioned the timeframe before. 25 years isnt useful for predictive information because people don’t trade on intervals of that duration. So associative data is less relevant. But as an indicator, and not a trade signal, it’s more telling - I agree.

My initial replies assumed you were suggesting this trend would be a useful predictive or trading tool. I realize now you never said that

@Nakamotolisk In addition, M2 increases contribute to the valuation of the S&P500. So the comparison is largely endogenous. (And stocks are more accepted in modern times than previous decades, which also accounts for further endogeneity)
