The animations in older 2Ks were genuinely ahead of its time. Standing sizeups, moving sizeups, triplethreat sizeups, Park sizeups, and that’s only looking at the dribbling system.
I’ve spoken about this consistently for years because I really want to bring more attention to the level of variety, creativity/flare these animations brought to gameplay. The difference was significant. For context, this video only shows the pro/elite animations not even the basic/normal packages and there’s already this much to show
I’ll personally always advocate most for the dribbling side because that’s where my strongest interest and experience are, but this goes well beyond dribbling. the same level of animation depth, freedom, and individuality could be felt across several areas of gameplay.
I’d really like to see this style influence the direction of 2k27 more animation variety, more expression, and more opportunities for different playstyles to feel genuinely unique.

I truly believe the community would thrive with this type of animation depth again!
