18 years ago today, I lost my mother. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t cross my mind. Today, she's in my thoughts more than usual. Even as a kid then, she meant the world to me and I still don't feel I’m able to cope with the loss. Forever my hero on this journey to do well.
You cannot rehabilitate a person that beheads a person.
You cannot rehabilitate someone that offs people for sport.
You cannot rehabilitate someone that kidnaps and rapes children.
The moment you lose a parent, there comes a point where you start measuring every pain against that loss and nothing ever feels as painful, you end up responding to life with a kind of nonchalance not because you don’t care, but because you’ve already survived the worst.
