@MrHtheteacher@_Reading_Rocks_@MrEPrimary Thank you that website looks fab - happy to take recommendations. It's for a year 4/5 class. Doesn't need any particular theme, just needs to be a really good book as it'll be the one I read to them each day.
Are there any teachers out there who were very happy in a school for a long time (several years) and were fearful of leaving, but did so anywayto further their career (ie assistant/deputy or HT) ?
How did that go for you?

@DeputyGrocott Thanks. Sheโs ok, a sore throat and that, but sheโs also a teacher so itโs made this week tricky for her as thereโs a lot on - as Iโm sure weโre all aware of! ๐ฅด
Took me until after my NQT year to realise I preferred teaching without a PowerPoint (unless it was genuinely needed for something) and that I love my trusty whiteboard more!
However, I did used to do lesson plans too, never considered PPT as a lesson plan, more a guide.

@joanneCDH@adamboxer1 Yes. The problem with this is itโs usually the same classes that win.
If youโre in a class with a persistent absentee or two (which could be for a good reason) then youโve no chance of โwinningโ.
Morning #edutwitter - whatโs everyone got planned for today and tomorrow in school?
For me, itโs ks2 play rehearsal, wrapping up a lovely unit of writing and also finishing reports!
(Plus a thousand other things of course ๐)
@HeyMissSmith @PGCE2009 Brilliant! I've taught in KS2 for most of my career so far. But I did do Y1 for a while & it was one of the hardest - but most important - things I've done. I learnt loads too & have so much respect for EYFS & Y1 teachers who do it well. Wish more KS2 teachers would experience it
