Can anyone describe the intensity of this spell.... It's the longest ongoing spell for today in Perambur without losing intensity for 10mins...🌪️That Street light just helped to capture one good spell.@praddy06@saran_2016@PIW2020@jhrishi2@mathavanguru19

Heavy rains in the #Cauvery catchment areas have left #Hemavathi and #Harangi dams almost full. Strong rainfall in the #Kabini catchment in #Wayanad (Kerala) means Kabini dam will fill up soon. Its excess water will flow directly into #Mettur without any obstructions.
Meanwhile, the #KRS dam is set to receive healthy inflows from the #Kodagu catchment, alongside excess water from Hemavathi in #Hassan over the next couple of days.
Hopefully, the Mettur dam will receive at least 3–7 TMC of water in next 7-10 days. While it is not enough, something is better than nothing.
Remember, it only reaches Mettur if there is overflow.
Unfortunately, today marks the last day of good rains in the catchment zones, as the rest of August looks quite grim , atleast for the next 3 weeks.

@jhrishi2 So if this is recognised as a cyclone then this will be named as 'Senyar' ryt? Then what will be the system near Srilanka will be named, if it intensifies as cyclone?
