Shreyas Iyer suffered a significant injury to his spleen after colliding awkwardly while fielding during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney on 25th October 2025. He was immediately taken to the hospital for detailed evaluation. Scans confirmed a laceration injury to his spleen, but he remains under treatment, and his condition is currently stable and progressing well. The BCCI Medical Team, in consultation with specialists both in Sydney and India, is closely monitoring his recovery, and the Indian team doctor continues to stay in Sydney to assess his daily progress.
