India has to transform her thinking to embrace China in cooperation because the long-term competitor is the "United" States, which will never tire of crushing the aspirations of Indian people wherever they exist. How exciting to get to be there! Coupled with the misery of the invasion of Afghanistan, trouble that brewed in the five "stans" of "Turkestan" under the Soviet Union were probably a bigger contributor to Russian isolationism than Reagan "outspending" them into submission.
