U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and the Center for Energy Studies at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy organised a closed-door industry roundtable on 'Energy Security in the Indo-Pacific with Quad Partners and Private Sector’.

This roundtable was part of the inaugural Quad Fuel Security Forum, convened by the U.S. Department of Energy. The event witnessed participation from the Quad government delegation as well as private-sector leaders from the energy, LNG, and infrastructure sectors. The attendees discussed regional energy security challenges and identified opportunities for public-private collaboration.

USISPF convened an industry dinner with @Spotify's global and India leadership, including @aprilsboyd, VP & Global Head of Government Affairs, and Amarjit Singh Batra, Managing Director, @spotifyindia.

The evening brought together senior government and embassy officials, Members of Parliament, former diplomats, cultural strategists, and industry leaders.

The conversation explored the growing strategic role of music and cultural industries in shaping the U.S.-India relationship.

Pertinent discussions on strengthening people-to-people connections and expanding opportunities across music, sports, tourism and the wider creative economy.

Discussions also drew on Spotify’s Loud & Clear report, examining the policy, economic and geopolitical forces shaping India’s rapidly evolving creative and digital landscape.

As the United States and India deepen their partnership across sectors, culture and creativity remain powerful avenues for building enduring connections between our two nations.

यहां जो साधारण-सी महिला अपना बैग खुद खींचती हुई नजर आ रही हैं, वही दुनिया की बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ रही अर्थव्यवस्था की तथाकथित “सबसे नाकाम वित्त मंत्री” हैं।

उन्हें तो इस्तीफा दे देना चाहिए था—आखिर उन्होंने टैक्स कम कर दिए, राजकोषीय घाटा घटाया, NPA कम किए और महंगाई पर काबू पाया। ऊपर से वैश्विक उथल-पुथल के बीच भारत की GDP ग्रोथ 7.8% तक पहुंचा दी।

सच कहें तो वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण जी ने जो काम किया है, उसका उन्हें उतना श्रेय नहीं मिलता, जितना मिलना चाहिए। उल्टा, उन्हें ज्यादातर ताने, मजाक और आलोचना ही झेलनी पड़ती है।

लेकिन शायद यही कीमत है देश के हित में ईमानदारी से काम करने की।

कांग्रेस के प्रधानमंत्री और वित्त मंत्री कभी इस तरह की नफरत और मजाक के निशाने पर नहीं रहे, क्योंकि उन्होंने कभी “राष्ट्रहित” के लिए काम ही नहीं किया—क्योंकि राष्ट्रहित, “स्वहित” से कहीं ऊपर की चीज है।

यही वजह है कि मनमोहन सिंह, जिनके कार्यकाल में भारत को लगभग दिवालिया होने की स्थिति और “Fragile-5” जैसी पहचान से जोड़ा गया, उन्हें महान “Economist” कहा जाता है।

और निर्मला जी, जिन्होंने हालात बदलकर भारत को “Super-5” की तरफ पहुंचाया, उन्हें “Failed Finance Minister” कहा जाता है।

यही है Narrative Building की ताकत—और भारतीय भी कई बार इस नैरेटिव के झांसे में आ जाते हैं।

सच में… “India” बड़ा मजेदार देश है! 😏

During my two-day Tamil Nadu visit, paid floral tributes to King Perumpidugu Mutharaiyar II (Suvaran Maran) at the Mutharaiyar Memorial Hall in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, remembering his exemplary governance in the region centuries ago.

Offered prayers at the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam and Arulmigu Jambukeswarar Temple at Thiruvanaikaval.

I was also privileged to attend the groundbreaking ceremony and lay the foundation stone for the Arulmigu Sabtha Kanniyar Kalapidari Kalapidaraneswar Temple at Nemam, Thanjavur, organised by the Arayar Suvaranmaran Pidari Trust.

On the occasion, I urged devotees to come together to restore and revive this historic temple, preserving our rich civilisational heritage for generations to come.
