AIIMS Bhubaneswar achieved a major milestone, its first ever deceased donor liver transplant, giving a second chance at life to a 46 yr old patient.

At the heart of this story is Dr. Radha Parhi, who even while battling illness, chose to pledge her organs. After her passing, her family honoured her wish, turning grief into hope.

The liver transplant facility will bring advanced treatment for end-stage liver disease within the reach of patients in Odisha and neighbouring states.

With the commissioning of the state-of-the-art surgical robotic system, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar has become the first government institution in Odisha to offer a comprehensive robotic surgery program.

#WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha | Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar Dr Ashutosh Biswas says, "This will provide a lot of convenience to poor people. These facilities are very expensive wherever they are available. If someone undergoes a liver transplant at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, it will happen at a very low cost... We have done two transplants so far, and in the future, this will be expanded... People will benefit from robotic surgery technology. Earlier, after operations, people had to stay in the hospital for many days, but now they will be discharged in two to three days."(23.02)

एम्स भुवनेश्वर में सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ प्रथम लिवर ट्रांसप्लांटेशन!

पुरी लोकसभा क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत पिपिली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के पोपरंगा निवासी श्री अविनाश दलेई जी का लिवर उपचार एम्स भुवनेश्वर में चल रहा था। उनके भाई श्री अभिजीत दलेई जी ने लिवर दान कर एक अनुकरणीय उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किया।

डॉ. ब्रह्मदत्त पटनायक जी, डॉ. तन्मय दत्ता जी, डॉ. सुनीता गुप्ता जी तथा डॉ. सुब्रत कुमार साहू जी के कुशल नेतृत्व में एम्स भुवनेश्वर में पहला लिवर ट्रांसप्लांटेशन सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ।

आज श्री अविनाश दलेई जी एवं उनके भाई श्री अभिजीत दलेई जी से भेंट कर उनका कुशलक्षेम जाना। साथ ही, इस ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि के लिए डॉक्टर्स से भेंट कर उन्हें हार्दिक बधाई एवं अभिनंदन दिया।

श्री अविनाश दलेई जी का संपूर्ण उपचार माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री @narendramodi जी तथा माननीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री श्री @JPNadda जी के नेतृत्व में संचालित आयुष्मान भारत योजना के अंतर्गत किया गया। इसके लिए मैं माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी एवं माननीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री श्री जे. पी. नड्डा जी का भी हार्दिक अभिनंदन करता हूँ।
