We will be arranging a digital booth experience for all our AAOS colleagues. And will be honoring our show specials. Please stay tuned for updates. It is sad that we will not be meeting in person but our AAOS Leadership has made the right decision.
(1/3) In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases and the risks associated with a large gathering, it has become clear to us that canceling #AAOS2020 is the right thing to do.
@HealthyFla We have an upcoming orthopedic surgery meeting March 21st at the Orlando Convention Center. The HIMSS meeting just cancelled this week. The AAOS lists you as the ones providing the recommendation to continue with the meeting saying it’s safe. Who told HIMSS to cancel?
@pat_health @CADTH_ACMTS I spoke to them on Monday. If they cancel they have to refund everyone. If we don’t go. They keep the money. The meeting is definitely our super bowl for marketing and making connections but I think it is a big cash cow for the Academy.
@BrennanSpiegel Sorry to hear but I admire your commitment to public safety. The right choice is often the toughest. Why not have every presenter give their talks to you via a zoom conference. Then you can post them on your site with access for the attendees. Maybe no live Q & A but can work.
#AAOS2020 SWIS SURGICAL VIDEO will be setting up an online Zoom conference to showcase our industry leading point-of-view video and live streaming solutions for surgeons. Safely experience our in-helmet total joint POV video system with live view wearable display at home!
@MDiPaolaMD@hjluks Matt I agree 100%. Hospitalists manage our patients while we focus on the extremities. Considering the large HIMSS meeting just cancelled I agree that the AAOS will look reckless. https://t.co/2ppftbiUsd
#AAOS2020 As of Sunday all of the staff for my booth have refused to go except one. Since this large HIMSS convention, held at the same convention center, has cancelled they are likely to refuse as well. What is our liability risk if we force staff to go to a disease hot spot?
#AAOS2020 I know that orthopedic surgeons are doctors but I consult medicine and the ID service for patient medical issues. Why don’t we talk to the medical advisors that had the large HIMSS meeting cancel for the safety of the physicians and hospital and industry reps.
@AAOSmembers Why does the AAOS think our meeting is safe if this meeting of physicians and hospitals and industry reps have been advised to cancel their meeting for safety? Our leadership should talk to their medical advisors.
@McDonalds Since your franchises no longer sell eggnog shakes, can you please stop advertising them. It brings joy every year except this one. Since none of them participate it is as if McDonalds no longer cares about Christmas. Truly a sad day.
@McDonalds Every year I buy my entire office of thirty employees a holiday McDonalds meal to kick off the season. The highlight is always the EggNog shake. This year I have essentially given up on thus tradition since no McDonald’s in Las Vegas or Henderson, Nevada has them.
@pharmaspeakers BUYER BEWARE! I had an extremely unprofessional experience with your cNational Account Director Michael Pellegrino. It is my duty to let others know how they operate. Everyone can make a mistake, but when you refuse to apologize and blame others - it matters.
@JRHandSurg @HandSociety @MicroCImaging Thanks for the kind words Dr. Rosenbaum. Your patients are well served by a specialist like yourself who stays on the cutting edge of medicine.
