2. Linguistic Survey of India, a survey carried out in between 1894-1928 by George Abraham Grierson claimed that Naga and Meiteis are within the same linguistic family and hence constitute the same and single ethnic entity. Published by Motilal Banarasidas in 1927

3. Account of the valley of Munnipore (Manipur) and of the Hill Tribe (With a comparative Vocabulary of the Munnipore, wherein W. Mc Culloh writes that the Manipuris (Meiteis) are a #tribe. Published by Bengal Printing Company in 1859

4. ‘The People of India’ written by J. D. Anderson mentions on page-43 that the Meetei race became Vaishnavite Hindu with their ruler though they retain their #primitive Tibeto- Burman language. Published by Cambridge University in 1913
