"The under-valued art of quitting". Many of us spend our time pushing our children to complete things they have started, in the belief that if we don't make them, they will never learn to stick at things. Here's why that is counter-productive. (with @_MissingTheMark) 1/
My sister who is a speech therapist in MD just texted me: “The speech issues I see with three and four year olds that have been masked I’ve never seen before in 22 years. So much low muscle tone, drooling, unusual articulation errors on early developing sounds…”
It is good news if the Cabinet does decide this morning to lift some "Plan B" restrictions.
But the job isn't done if mask wearing remains in place. The evidence for masks is weak & the many downsides are persistently discounted.
All Plan B measures need lifting *for good*.
If you are comfortable with children as young as 12 wearing a face covering ALL DAY LONG in the classroom, not only do you have an absurd misunderstanding of how an infectious respiratory virus spreads, you also have no place in the world of education 😷🦠
▪️They said three weeks to flatten the curve.
▪️They said freedom by February
▪️They said freedom by Easter
▪️They said freedom after 15m jabs
▪️They said freedom on 21st June
When they say something, believe the opposite.

We stayed at home
We socially distanced
We wore masks
We didn’t visit elderly relatives.
We closed businesses
We closed schools
We didn’t travel
We didn’t hug
We took the jab
And still they want to lock us down.
We can’t do any more.
On 21st June, we say...
#EnoughIsEnough.
It’s destroyed businesses, livelihoods, mental health, kids welfare, elderly interaction, non Covid treatments.
Hospitalisations are still low. 1 death today. We have a vaccine.
After 21st June, we can’t do this anymore. We are done.

Retweet if you agree.
Let me make my moral position on this whole situation as clear as possible:
I believe that any government or advisory body, faced with a pandemic of a virus which appears to be dangerous, should take action to limit the harm it causes to a population.
