Thanks @SPGlobal for a productive #CERAWeek, where the CEBA team discussed the urgent need for resource-agnostic permitting reform to ensure affordable, reliable electricity for all.
CEO @powellrich took to the stage to explain how leading corporate buyers are funding solutions. From bringing new generation and storage online to covering grid upgrade costs, CEBA members are actively working with utilities and communities to ensure that growth does not come at the cost of reliability or affordability.
The team also had a flurry of informative meetings with member organizations, administration officials, and media.
@SusanKBuehler
“Our economic future depends upon lawmakers acting now, because permitting reform is not a partisan issue; it’s an American competitiveness issue.”

🚀 CEBA members are leading the way on affordability commitments.
Several CEBA members signed the Ratepayer Protection Pledge at the White House yesterday, as major tech companies furthered their commitment to build, bring, or buy the power their data centers need — without shifting costs to households.
The bigger story? A generational wave of private investment in new, carbon emissions-free electricity that is reshaping America’s energy landscape. And CEBA members are driving those deals to support their growing operations.
Here’s what they’re delivering:
@amazon → 40 GW of capacity across 700 projects; advancing next-generation nuclear, with agreements to scale up to 960 MW
@Google → 22 GW of clean energy globally, investing in nuclear, geothermal, and long-duration storage
@Meta → Announced one of the largest corporate clean energy purchases in history this year: 6.6 GW of clean, reliable power by 2035
@Microsoft → Community-First AI Infrastructure to avoid ratepayer impacts
@Oracle → Paying for grid upgrades in partnership with local utilities or building data centers with on-site generation on or near its campuses
Corporate buyers have procured 127+ GW of carbon emissions‑free energy since 2014, showcasing their commitment to these reliable resources.
At CEBA, our mission is to advance the policy and market solutions needed to accelerate low-cost, reliable, carbon emissions-free electricity systems — in that order. America’s largest energy customers are reshaping the grid faster than ever before.
The next frontier: modernizing the nation’s permitting processes so these projects can reach the communities that need them most.

⚡ CEBA sponsored the annual #SustainableEnergy in America #2026Factbook from the @BCSECleanEnergy and @BloombergNEF, a go-to resource for tracking energy trends.
📈 At events this week, @NidhiJThakar and @Kyle Davis joined experts to discuss the latest market and policy trends. Despite shifting market dynamics and policy uncertainty, corporate procurement of clean energy reached a record high in 2025. Companies signed new deals for wind and solar but also for clean firm technologies, including nuclear, fusion, geothermal, hydropower, and carbon capture technologies, to meet rising U.S. energy needs.
📣 “What we still see is a very strong market for carbon emission-free procurement.” -@NidhiJThakar

📣 Utility regulators will need to “thread the needle” on affordability while enabling the next wave of U.S. innovation. — CEBA Senior Vice President of Policy @NidhiJThakar discussed the growing need to keep electricity costs in check as power demand surges.
🏗️ On a panel at @NARUC's Winter Policy Summit, Nidhi highlighted that expanding programs allowing large customers to bring their own clean energy online can enhance reliability and reduce long‑term costs. For instance, she cited Georgia Power’s integrated resource plan that will allow CEBA members to purchase up to 3,000 megawatts of resources through 2035, a program developed in collaboration with CEBA staff.
