🚨 BREAKING: The Ford government is taking control of four school boards — TDSB, OCDSB, TCDSB, and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic board — in a sweeping move that will likely undermine local democracy.
Minister Calandra claims it’s about “accountability” - but look at Thames Valley, already under ministry supervision:
❌ No public budget presentation
❌ No input from communities
❌ No accountability
This isn’t transparency. It’s a power grab!
Meanwhile, school boards are being forced to do more with less. Since 2018, the Ford government has taken more than $6 billion out of the classroom and funding has fallen FAR behind inflation. As we have said, and @OPSBA has said, per-student funding has dropped by nearly $1500 since Ford took office in 2018, leaving a $693M shortfall across English public boards this year alone!
They're just trying to distact from 7 years of chronic underfunding 😡

Fewer members performing the same amount of work means quality of service may decline. Everything from the Learning Technologies department to the Planning department is intended for student success. Members take that seriously. #onted should fund properly and on-time.
Boards across ON are being forced to make difficult decisions due to the chronic underfunding of education by the Ford govt, pitting one priority against another. Students deserve a properly funded public education system, w/enough staff and supports! #onted@OSSTFD25TBU@osstf
BREAKING: Supreme Court of Canada strikes down provisions of Bill 307 - confirming the Ford government violated fundamental democratic principles.

Dug out of the snow so...why not go VOTE? Beat the rush (and possible snow storm) and vote before Feb. 27 for a candidate/party that commits to fixing public education! #onted#onpoli
Was great to join @tylerwatt as a candidate who will work to fix public education and health care! There is still time to vote, volunteer &/or donate! #onpoli#onted#ONelxn2025
@tylerwatt is the strong voice that #Nepean deserves‼️ After being out in the riding again this evening, it is clear his momentum is building. From investing in & safeguarding our public schools to fixing our Healthcare system, it is time to turn Nepean RED‼️💪 @OntLiberal
This is being billed as Premier Doug Ford’s presentation to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. I’ve done 9 interviews and have found one American businessman to speak to. The majority of people in this room are Canadian business people worried about Trump tariffs.
Attn #OSSTF Members: We’re Connecting w/ candidates in #Ottawa#Nepean today!
#OntEd issues & our members’ priorities need to be heard during this provincial election. OLP Candidate Tyler Watt was happy to speak w/ us about the need to fully fund & staff Ontario’s schools.
