Regardless of your opinions on the monarchy, hopefully the publicity around this will help men be more comfortable in going to the doctor and get better diagnosis rates.
The Palace has said that the King does not have prostate cancer, the most common kind of cancer among men of his age. What other types of cancers are most common for older men?

The Pale Blue Dot is an iconic photograph of Earth captured by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990. Taken from a distance of around 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as Voyager 1 was departing our solar system, the image portrays Earth as a tiny, pale blue speck in the vastness of space. This image is a powerful reminder of our planet's isolation and fragility in the cosmic expanse, highlighting the need for responsible stewardship of our home. The photograph was a result of astronomer Carl Sagan's suggestion to turn Voyager's camera back towards Earth, offering a profound perspective on our place in the universe.

It feels extremely appropriate that, 10 years after receiving some utterly dire #ALevelResults, I receive an offer to begin a Masters course at @ThinkUHI 🥳
Couldn't have done it without the fantastic experience and encouragement at the @OpenUniversity ❤

Who doesn't enjoy spending their weekend explaining to the public that a puffin is, in fact, a fish?*

🧵Let's have a conversation about museums and what they are and how they work.
Because recently some people have been having some Big Feelings about them and about their favorite artifact being removed from an exhibit. 🧵

This afternoon I slept and dreamed it had all slipped away , that we were all ambling to the funeral of life . We were sobbing over Swallows and Small Coppers , crying about Cuckoos and porpoises , choking and gasping about rivers and meadows . And when I woke up . . . the world was on fire
Excuse me while I take a moment to be extremely proud of my fiancé. @UniversityLeeds has itself another rising star in the world of #history#research.
Research trips ahoy! Maybe even... Tour de Scotland II: Archive Boogaloo?
I'm very excited to be able to announce that I have been awarded a 3 year Fellowship by the Army Records Society, to assist me in producing a collection of primary material relating to the Fencible Regiments in Britain 1793-1802, for publication in 2026.

I've got to say, this has been one of the most satisfying projects to work on - going from a navigational chart in March to launching the live site today has been really good fun, and I've learnt loads along the way!
We've released the Proceedings from our hybrid One Year On Conference last week! Visit our Sway to view recordings of the event, slide decks, the winning case studies, and to find out more about how you can collaborate with us:

@MichaelSchuijff @RMB_History Being super blunt though - that means that history books will quite literally only be written by people who have the time, energy and money to do it around their "proper" jobs. Doesn't feel very democratic or egalitarian to me.
