Anecdotally, this wasn’t true for us. Our public elementary school was amazing with the IEP interventions, & we were able to get our child to where he needed to be. Was it hard? Yes. Did it take work at home? Yes. But he’s now thriving. We were lucky and had an amazing team.

2. Carry the 1 (yeah, we all know it’s really a 10, not 1)
3. 50+20+10+5=85

Yea, you can move a 1 to the 29 to make it 30 so it is 30+55, which equals 80. But do we need to penalize kids if they do it the first way instead of showing the second “strategy?” #commoncore
