What a shame!!
If Africa has learned anything, it is that major foreign interests rarely arrive announcing themselves for what they are. They usually arrive wrapped in the language of partnership, development, security and helping us solve a problem🚶🏿♀️
My engineer brother @MuriraKinoti and his team at @KURAroads are truly standing out for their superb work. On 18th March this year, I posted the rubble and unfinished drainage works left behind on Brookside Drive. Mind you, this was shortly after they had apparently repaired the road and drainage towards the end of February.
Today, I must say that in less than three months, the place has transformed into yet another masterpiece. We must also never forget to commend the other multi-agency stars @KeNHAKenya, @ntsa_kenya and @047County who work so seamlessly under the famous one government approach to make Nairobi beautiful, safe and functional.
The pictures speak for themselves, a true reflection of the hard work, dedication and brilliance poured into making Nairobi great again, by the way the place has this seductive sewage scent all around. I do hope my brother can kindly share the contractor’s contact, as I have some work I need done.

Watu wa Kitengela wanakuaga wamechoka na Ruto kuliko other kenyans. Swearing in ceremony of our next president should be done in Kitengela, their consistency is admirable.
I have watched Dr Gikonyo under cross examination and what struck me is that some men reach an age where intimidation stops working on them.
There is a certain calmness that comes from having seen governments come and go, presidents rise and fall, ministers behave like small gods, and public storms disappear after a few weeks. You could see a man who was not auditioning for approval from the room, the lawyers, the cameras or the political crowd outside.
That is what made it interesting. Kenya is full of people who tremble the moment power enters the room. They start calculating what to say, who might be offended, which side is watching and how tomorrow’s headlines may read. Dr Gikonyo looked like someone who has outlived that fear.
At some point in life, the most dangerous person in any room is not the loudest one. It is the old man who no longer needs anything from anyone.
The High Court has held that the in duplum rule applies to all lenders including microfinances. In Faulu Microfinance Bank Limited v Kilonzo, a borrower had taken a Kshs. 569,000 loan but defaulted, prompting the lender to claim over Kshs. 621,000. Despite the matter being undefended, the trial court applied the in duplum rule and reduced the recoverable amount to about Kshs. 145,000.
On appeal, the lender argued that the rule only applies to banks, not microfinance institutions. The High Court rejected that argument, holding that the rule is a matter of public policy meant to protect borrowers from excessive interest, and therefore binds all lenders. Bottom line: no lender can hide behind technicalities to inflate debt endlessly.
Colon cleansing is the most powerful yet ignored health intervention.
It fixes chronic fatigue, skin problems, and weak immunity.
I've tested this myself, and it does wonders.
