To bring awareness to the importance of rice fortification, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests & #WFP Bhutan organized a regional 2-day workshop on 15th & 16th of April at Punakha. The workshop featured expert speakers from Thailand, Bangladesh, India & Bhutan. @moafbhutan
Across #Bhutan🇧🇹and #SouthAsia, #rice🍚 is a staple food. Rice fortification ensures that people receive important micronutrients that ordinary rice does not have and is one of the most cost-effective solutions to reduce #malnutrition.
The training was conducted in Paro for District Officers from the Western and Southern regions from the 5th to 9th of April. Similar trainings will be conducted for the Eastern region in the months to come.
How do we prepare for #disaster? District Officers of #Bhutan's Department of Disaster Management (MoHCA) underwent training on data collection using a mobile app. This will allow the officers to assess immediate needs during disasters & respond quickly to people in need. #DRM
On #WorldHealthDay, let's pledge to build a fairer and healthier world.
