Hi, I understand your frustrations but the service has to cut to run fewer trains on an already stressed railway. During hotter spells an easy way to give the rails a fighting chance is to run fewer trains and run them at reduced speed. If we did not do this the likelihood of experiencing serious problems with the network would multiply causing much more severe disruption. ^RC

@JuoPosts@TrainsOfDorset Hi, unfortunately yes we have a number of short formations on this line as we are experiencing a large number of faults on these units. ^RC
@ChickenGeorge_1 Hi David, I agree with you completely. We have some journeys that can be covered by a large variety of tickets which can lead to customers not getting the best value for money for their travelling conditions. ^RC
@VicIsSomeone Hi, if there are cancellations then yes you would be able to choose not to travel and claim a refund. We would look to resource replacements transport if needed but sometimes this can be challenging to recruit always. ^RC
Hi Stuart, thanks for the feedback but I believe the question was referring to the pinning of our message about the hot weather. The X team would not be well versed in the technical endurance of the rail network but I have attached a Network Rail video which does cover some of these details. https://t.co/Efce4P61PV ^RC
@Lucylucebriscoe Hi, we are anticipating that there may be some level of disruption due to the heatwave but I would always advise checking close to the time of travel as we won't know the impact of the hot weather until then. ^RC
@mrmrwacky Hi, I have just been advised the only option is for advanced tickets to be amended at the ticket office for a small fee so this is my mistake. Apologies. ^RC
Hi, not quite. I would just advise being aware that different ticket types are available through differencing retailers and have different terms and conditions. Whilst an advanced ticket is cheaper it is only valid for a specific train, and is also non refundable. So if you decide not to travel or are later than expected, you would ultimately lose the cost of that ticket and potentially need to buy a new one. ^RC
Hi, I have provided a link below. I would like to reiterate that I do not know if this will be successful as the agents look at each case on it's own merit. I would just suggest putting details that you checked your journey (as advised) and trains were cancelled, then it appears services were reinstated after you had already made alternative arrangements. https://t.co/PQ94LfD5mX ^RC
Hi, unfortunately the way ticketing works is you can have many different tickets for the same train. I can see the ticket you purchased from the machine was a Sunday Out single and maybe the trainline app was offering an Advanced ticket which means it is only valid for that train. ^RC
@PowellVerity Hi, you can make a claim if you wish and an agent will look into this for you. They will be able to see what services were reinstated so may be able to offer some compensation but I am not in the position to confirm this. It may be worth a go though. ^RC
Hi Duncan, honestly I think we would rather post advise as soon as the weather becomes warm just to ensure people are taking precautions where necessary. We have a duty of care to passengers so we always try to advise passengers taking water can make your journey more comfortable if the weather spikes. ^RC
@PowellVerity Hi, I can see both services run so I imagine these trains were reinstated are the issue was fixed quicker than expected. Apologies for the confusion. ^RC
