This video of Abhishek Sharma is proof that Indian men should start shaving their faces now. Especially the cricketers, essentially the cricketers with patchy beards.
No. They won’t. Popularity can’t be forced upon people. It happens through great performances like these.
I’ve seen how WPL and Women’s cricket at large is grown in popularity in my own household. It’s been slow and steady. But that’s how all sports (men or women) grow.
Good news: Indian women score empathic and historic test win over England at Lords.. but will a young star like Kranti Gaud who picked up 7 wickets get even 1/10th of the coverage of any male cricketer ? Think!🙏

Elon Musk was asked by a room full of Stanford students what single trait separates people who change the world from people who don't. Everyone expected him to say intelligence. Or work ethic. Or vision.
He said pain tolerance.
The room wasn't sure if he was joking. He wasn't. He explained that intelligence is common. Ambition is common. Even good ideas are relatively common. What is genuinely rare is the ability to absorb punishment day after day, year after year, and keep building anyway.
He said most people he's met who are smarter than him quit after the first real failure. Not because they weren't talented. Because the pain of failure exceeded their tolerance for it. They found something easier and redirected their intelligence there.
He said the entire history of SpaceX is just a story about absorbing explosions, literally and financially, and refusing to interpret them as signals to stop.
Nobody writes that on a motivational poster. Nobody puts "pain tolerance" on their LinkedIn profile. But it's the actual filter. Not who can dream the biggest. Who can bleed the longest.
Few months ago, while we were in Krabi islands, we went for a boat ride, to see nearby islands. Kids were onboard too. Then the speedboat started, the water was a bit rough, and it was one of the most terrifying experiences. Forget enjoying it, we were praying it to stop. It felt one of the kids could get thrown overboard any moment.
It’s usually advertised as a family thing, but it’s not for the faint hearted. During the monsoons it gets even rougher. People don’t talk about it much, as they assume this thrill to be part of the experience they signed up for. But this is not tourism.
Max Holloway, Conor McGregor’a saygı duyuyor:
The easy thing would be is to hold players responsible for this overseas T20 setback.
The right thing would be is to hold those responsible who have made IPL such, that it puts a heavy make up on Indian batters.
Again Im confused, we were told India could send 3 or 4 teams and beat any side in the world, and yet they sent their 5th or 6th best side for this series....weird...

First India got whitewashed by South Africa at home.
Then lost BGT for the first time in a decade.
Blamed the seniors, got Ashwin to retire, forced Kohli and Rohit to retire.
Then built an entire young team only for them to get whitewashed by New Zealand in Tests again at home.
This should’ve been enough ground to get the guy sacked. When was the last time India got whitewashed in a Test series at home twice in two years?
India’s ODI side was better than ever but someone wanted Shreyas Iyer to be sacked even though he has been India’s best number four batter for a long period of time. Luckily Kohli got injured and that never happened.
Despite winning Champions Trophy and also winning Player of the Final award, Rohit was asked to leave captaincy. Also there were questions being raised on his commitment issues etc which were again put to rest when both Rohit and Kohli stepped up in ODI series to follow.
There hasn’t been any progress post CT win even though we have played like a dozen ODIs. India still hasn’t found a replacement for Shami in Tests/ODIs but continue to ignore him.
Everything was right with the T20I side but someone felt Shubman Gill had to be brought back and made vice captain straightaway. This meant Sanju had to make way for him.
But Gill underperformed and at the last moment someone took a u-turn and removed him suddenly for the T20 World Cup.
The baffling selection tactics continued but Sanju showed his mettle with scores of 97*, 89 and 89 in last three knockouts and also won Player of the Tournament.
This is a personal opinion but if anyone deserved captaincy, it was Samson because of his vast experience and because he has proved himself with the bat. Instead it was Shreyas Iyer. While I don’t have doubts on his leadership credentials, the fact that we are bringing in someone who hasn’t played a single T20I for 2.5 years didn’t sit well with me but again that’s my personal take.
Three low scores and Sanju gets dropped, India lose to Ireland 0-2, lose to England 0-4 and lose their No.1 ranking for the first time in 3-4 years.
After all this blunders, if we still have the same man at the helm of Indian cricket, then we are doomed.
Sarfaraz Khan not being in the Indian test team is a classic example of what is going wrong with our selection.
The guy has been a consistent run scorer in domestic cricket, A games and the few chances he got representing India.
Sarfaraz Khan's father 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱 the selectors & Gambhir over Sarfaraz's continued snub 😭
"Our tyre performs in winter, summer, on good roads, and on bad roads. It's up to the owner whether he wants to put it in the front row, the 2nd row, or use it as a 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗻𝗲𝘆" 😭
Absolutely. This is what ends up happening and we don’t fix our problems.
The Problems :
1. The current Indian team struggles to play on bouncy fast wickets. This is across red and white ball formats.
2. They struggle to play Test matches against good opponents on Indian soil. This is a new phenomena. We used to be kings at home. This is largely down to us not being able to play good quality spin bowling.
I don’t know how these problems get solved. But the richest cricket board should have the means to create the best team in the only sport we care about in India.
